That is not a bound brim. Are you sure about the brim width you posted?

Wow, thank you. You're right on both counts. I just rechecked and you're right, brim's only 2 inches, and it's not bound. I don't remember what that overlaying process is called.

A non-trademarked name for this would be a felted edge. Dobbs used Guild Edge, which is imprinted on the sweatband of your hat.
