Post Stetson brown Mallory homburg. It’s also past the use of the cloth size tags, but the felt is thin and easily accepts dry creasing.

Very nice. I don’t suspect very far past fabric size tags

Circa 1965 Mallory.....came in a Stetson Box (common in this era as the hats were made by Stetson after 1946 and sold by Stetson Dealers. I am not sure they even made "Mallory" boxes in the late Stetson era of the 60's). I absolutely love the deep color and thin felt of this one.
Apparently sold for $9.95 with a 40 cent COD fee......5" to top of crease, 2 1/2" bound brim....ribbon contrast is striking. Bow is offset to the rear......This is now a favorite and will see a LOT of head time!

I have a Pre-Stetson Mallory XV (15) that I believe may be the precursor to the Dallas. Pics below. Notice the different date in the liner. Stetson changed the date to 1817 for some oddball reason. (Stetson bought Mallory in August of 1946.)

This Mallory XV that 1mach1 bought in 2013 and posted about here in Apr 2014, he sold to me earlier this year, in Mar 2022. I just happened to run across his post about this hat while trying to find some similar hat with the same liner. Note this liner doesn't have the usual Mallory Established 1823 or 1817 date at the top of the crest. Instead, at bottom of crest it says Renowned Since 1823. If you look on page 43 of this thread, at top of page is a post-Stetson Mallory XV "The Dallas" which has a completely different liner than this Mallory here, but like this liner, at bottom of crest is Renowned Since 1817. This leads me to think or theorize that this second hat is an early post-Stetson Dallas, and that my first hat is either perhaps a precursor to "The Dallas" or possibly that it was sold as a Dallas but that maybe they hadn't started stamping that name on the sweatband yet. Since the Dallas was advertised or sold at least by 1942, I'm hesitant to try to push the date if my hat back before that.

Here's what a call the Monster Truck of gangster fedoras, a Mallory from the transitional period of the Stetson takeover. The liner has the post-Stetson 1817 date but the sweatband has the pre-Stetson 1823 date. The brim is 3 inches. Hat made of Pliafelt, per stamp on sweatband.

Next is a pre-Stetson Mallory, dark blue, 2 1/2 inch brim. Has no liner but inside roof of hat has the Mallory crest with Established 1823 date.
