Go to Haight Street in SF. These people are in their late 40s, still "alternative," speaking in teen-talk, living for live rockandroll shows, living in crappy apartments, drinking beer at bars every single night, working in a record store or other retail job -- they never shave, they will never marry or have children, they
now, i is that such a bad thing...

Not a dumb comment but...

My postman delivered a new hat to my house yesterday. I had to sign for it, so while I was signing for it I commented, "I've been waiting for this hat".
Its not uncommon for him to deliver hats to my house but he commented, "Do you have any of those Indiana Jones movies? I would like to borrow one if you have one....". Can you believe I don't own an Indy DVD?
I felt bad that I couldn't loan him a movie...

ALARM!!!! ALARM!!!! ALARM!!!! You DON'T own an Indiana Jones movie? Not even on VHS? Are you a COMMUNIST NAZI SPY sent to infiltrate the hat wearing citizens of this Grand Nation, to learn our weaknesses in order to exploit them in a planned Hat Offensive against us??!! Huh? Are you? Are you? If you wear a Fedora, you MUST be an Indiana Jones fan. IT'S THE LAW!!

Really, no IJ movies? Hmmm...you really need to go to Bestbuy or Wal Mart and correct this hideous mistake on your part.

I don't have any IJ movies neither. I do have Blade Runner, one of the crappy recent Star Wars films, Dark City, a whole lot of film noir, Brazil, some good horror and ... Gattacca.

I haven't seen the IJ films in 20 years. If someone wants to send me a boxed set, I'd be happy to accept. I did like them a lot.

I'm waiting until the FOUR-movie BD set myself. :D

same here- I have the VHS box set that came out a few years back with the 'bonus' YIJC video...my wife bought it for me, but she bought 'Full Screen'
I hate full screen movies! Anyway, you can bet before Christmas this year there will be an 'Ultimate Super-Duper Limited Collector's Edition End-all Be-all' DVD box set with all 4 movies.:essen:

And what about the Young Indiana Jones DVDs?
Not really interested. I'm extremely displeased that Lucas has once again showed his revisionist streak and completely taken out the parts with the 93 year old Indy and reordered everything so it "makes more sense." Come on, now. If you had a series go on that many seasons, obviously the format it was in ALREADY WORKED the way it is.

Personally, I'd like to see a followup, if George Hall's still around, by splicing the "Old Indy" segments together with some new shooting into a kind of "epilogue"... frankly, I think it's kind of an insult to the man and his work to just leave it all on a cutting-room floor. (And there are a lot of his injuries, not to mention Old Indy quirks, that are yet to be explained...)

Yesterdays beauty

My optometrist is descended from a well to do English noble family which migrated to Australia in the 1960s to live near their daughter. They lived in the mountains near a golf course. When they died 20 years ago the family used it as a holiday house. I mentioned to my friend that I liked vintage clothing. She said she went up there and cleaned out all her grandfather's suits from say the 1950s the other day. She says to me "Some were moth eaten - others were not." I said "what did you do with them" She said "don't say anything I threw them out in the Council cleanup!"  I said "was he a bigger size?" She said yes....:rage: :rage: :(

Geez, that was a pretty ignorant decision. :eusa_doh:
I tell you what, go out to the place where they dump that stuff and dig them out. Send them all to me. ;) :p
