Judge not least ye be judged. Okay you can give them the benefit of the doubt.

I live in LA and see it every day, there are simply not that many people donating track suits especially expensive track suits to people that have lost their homes. I have seen people shopping on Rodeo Drive in sweats and track suits, going to their doctors appointments, the lawyers office, the insurance agent, dining out in fine restaurants, the post office, etc. It's a way of life here.

I spoke with a young lady once that was complaining that her relatives did not understand when see wore dresses and pants suits to look a bit dressed up for family get togethers or going out to dine. (And not fast food either.) They complained to her suggesting she get with the program: "Honey, you don't need to get all dressed up for this." Her aunt wanted to take her to the store to buy her a track suit or sweat suit to be like everyone else.

What we mean by this is to repeat what has been covered other places the loss of a sense of decoram replaced by ultra casualness that's all. I am not suggesting they get rounded up and sent to camps for re-education, well- not yet anyway.

Isn't it fun judging others based on the clothes they wear.:eusa_doh: When there is no other way to find fault with someone there is always their attire as the last resort. And though we find ways to set ourselves apart from others, dumb comments connect us all.

I didn't mean to say that people who wear tracksuits would be worse people than those who wear suits and so on. I just think its a shame how many people these days rather wear something easy to put on and not-so-good-looking than clothes that are a little harder to put on, but look damn good.

You also shouldn't wear clothes that look super good, but are also hard to be put on and feel super uncomfortable, like some fashion freaks seem to do these days.

I thought this thread was intended to post the comments, herein perceived as the dumbest, that we as the wearers of hats had received.

That's what I've posted thus far.

Not really a bad comment but it did set me straight. Yesterday, after work, I go to my favorite diner. I decide to leave my cloth cap in the car and let my scalp get some sunlight and air. Instantly the cook and the waitress turns and yells, "Dude, where's your hat?" and "You don't have a hat on!". I guess that learns me to walk around with no hat on.

It seems that this is the perfect thread to contain your posts. It will be difficult to get a proper pitty party started when you do exactly what you detest in others.

I'll say this for you Bart, your a real trooper on this.

All I did was point out an underlying cause for the track suit thing and you turned into a crusade for those poor tracksuit people. Look you can wear the track suit, you can wear the fedora, you can wear what you want, where you want and when you want, it is no skin off of my teeth. I don't give my comments to people when their in public.

When you take me to task over being judgemental I am going to tell you where to stick it. As far as I am concerned you have taken what I wrote out of context by using a value system of your own have misconstrued what I wrote. I have not gotten in anyones face. I have not told them track suits at Spago's is not really appropriate. However I do have a right to have an opinion and to express them. But you're trying to take my rights away from me and by using the ploy of taking the supposed "higher moral road" of non-judgement and you then tried to make me feel like I am the bad guy here. You're taking the tact that you're the great teacher dispensing truths.

Let's take a look at what you're doing and see what's up here. First we must all agree that only your opinion is right, and only your value system is right therefor all others are wrong and need to be corrected because you're so wise. Just remember if others tried to place their value system on you, you would be offended. BUT if its your value system and your opinion to be imposed on others then that's fine. I know the drill. I have seen this on a number of occasions, Dr. Morbius.

If I value your opinion very little, and you value my opinion very little that's OK, but if you think I have no right to have an opinion then you'll definately get an argument from me.

You make it very hard to sympathize for your plight.

And since this thread is finally about you and track suits, maybe it could finally be moved to the Observation Bar or perhaps it deserves its own special section.

In my heart I think the bulk of the people that contribute to the Hat Forum would like to see this thread go away, lest we become whiners by association. I really don't think what it has become is what we are about.

Agreed. Over time, this thread has become a kind of lame "Revenge of the Nerds" that fails to appreciate the utter irony of decrying those who would insult others, while at the same time sparing no effort to insult others.

One way or the other, this thread should either be shut down or moved out of the Hats Forum...

If person "A" did not care for my appearance today and said something to me about it, that could be an insult. But if person "A" tells person "B" how I was garbed and his opinion thereof, and I am not party to that conversation, it is not an insult.

Mr. Vim is right, let's see this thread return to its function as the repository for those, er "unique" observations we hear and snappy responses thereto.
