Back when I was in high school, I wore a fedora everyday to school, and a beige classic trench coat during the winter. There was this group of kids who would always see me, and every time they say me, they'd start going "Doo do doo do doo Inspector Gadget, doo do doo do dooo!!"

Seems like I either get called Inspector Gadget, Dick Tracy or Indiana Jones. Can't I just be plain old Jonathan who wears a fedora? [huh]

DUmb hat comments...

Good or 'cool' comments I've had have ranged from "Where'd you get your hat?" (I wear several fedora's, including the Indian Jones" brown felt you see) to "That's pretty gangster, dude."
Bad: I was walking at night one evening with my wife wearing my White Panama (Old Indy brand wide brim) and a car full of kids drove by and yelled out 'Shitkicker' at me.
Pretty stupid....

Ack, I hate experiences like that.

It makes me mad to think that people have no respect for anything anymore. Especially in front of your own kids.

Does anyone here remember the days when you were polite to a man, his wife, and his children? You did so because you didn't know if he just might pull out a .25 or .32 out of his vest pocket and plug you with it. In those days, people were much more civilized, if not more in the spirit of self preservation than kindness. Not that I'm advocating violence or anything, but that was a much more polite time period. :D

I've had people mutter "Harry Potter" under their breath around me. Apparently, the young fictional wizard apparently has a fondness for tweed jackets, fedoras and collarless shirts... [huh]

Hmmm..... I don't remember all the curses from the goblet of fire but I would whip out a pencil or some such thing, point it at them and say the words---Imperius Curse. :p

Me and my SO walked in to a fast food place on Saturday that is run by some latino gentlemen. Now I am sure these guys were in the party mood it being CInquo de Mayo and all, but we when both walked in wearing our fedoras (my brown Optimo and his black Borsalino) the man behind the counter let loose the loudest "YEE HAW" I have ever experienced. It was actually pretty funny though.

Now really, does the boss bring the bong to work everyday? :eusa_doh:
It must have been quite a while since he has actually seen Indy movies. I mean spectators? Really! [huh]

Long Thread

This thread is great, but so lengthy I haven't read it all yet ... meaning I am not sure if I am the only one who has recieved this great (though a tad insulting) reference:

Inspector Clouseau. :eusa_doh:

Come to think of it the hat style fit and I am a bit bumbling ...

Inspector Clouseau? Have you been wearing those wool tweed hats again? ;) :p
YOur mention of this is probably the first I have heard of. Threaten to have Judu work them over. ;)

J
