A repeat, but large and clear scan. Note Park Avenue address.

Nice ad. The style of the felt ribbon on that one really reminds me of the Mallory 10 that I brought to Monteagle.

Cheers,

Heavenly days Dinerman! You always manage to find some real gems no matter what it is. That one is what, about mid 1920's? Good find. :eusa_clap

Cheers!

Dan

Thanks!
I'd say that one's probably c.1940. I'm sure Brad could give a closer estimate.

Great Box Buler!
I've acquired a modest Game Bird collection, even one for my father, mostly 50's era. I have an octagonal Dobbs box with fishing scenes I'll have to photograph for this thread.

I just received this grey Dobbs from ebay. I wanted something with a 2 1/8 brim, and I really like the way the hat was blocked. It only cost me $25 with shipping. Based on the box, I would guess its from the 60's, maybe even early 70's. But the fur felt is very very smooth and has a gorgeous color. The hat is a bit darker than shown in the pictures. It looks a bit lighter due to the flash. Here are some pics I took. Enjoy:

Does anyone know the average dimensions for a Gamebird?

It really depends on when you're talking about, as the Dobbs Gamebird changed styles over four decades, keeping up with the current fashion. In general, then, the Gamebird's dimensions matched what was currently in style.

Thanks, I thought it would be something like that. I'm looking at a 1947 ad like the one in post 364 and thinking of having Art do one up for me when he gets his forrest green felt.
