I also wonder why this jacket isn't more popular. Not much really came up in the search for wearing photos.
Unlike the N-1, this one is really navy in colour. Surprisingly, I like it quite well on me, although it is very wide around the tummy. But the strong taper with the knitted waistband and the firm jungle cloth makes it work. I would also like to see a version with the 500g wool lining.

If the jacket hasn't gone yet I would like to try. I will write you a message!
That‘s the jacket I got as a present from @MrProper.
Thanks again!

I’ve been wearing my new rmc khaki lately. I ordered in my typical size 40. It is a comfortable trim fit with a flannel. I’d suggest with this model if you plan on heavy layers to size up.

I am happy! Seems "my" Jacket has found it's final destination. Looks great on you! I should say, the U.S.N. Stencil it had originally come with was looking not like on the originals. I re-painted it with fabric marker and ironed the color in so it is stable. There are some green spots around but hard to notice. The buttons this jacket originally came with were pale khaki, so I took 40s mil-spec buttons from my collection and sew them on. Enjoy your jacket!

Is Iron Heart the only brand the has fur lining in their pockets, or do other brands like Real McCoys do that too? I heard Iron Heart is also the only brand that does an interliner.

Nice! I personally hate having the U.S.N. stencil on my clothes since I didn't serve, and I hate having people ask me if I did.

Where I roam there is no danger of people asking me this. 99% don't even know what USN stands for. If they "know", they ask me if I sell fitness drinks and supplements, lol.
The U.S.N. stencil was there anyway just not in the correct WWII appearance.

I’ve scoured through and still seem a bit confused on Pike Brothers sizing. I’m a 41” chest , ive measured a jacket I wear that fits comfortably and it’s 23.5” p2p. Which would put me at a medium in the Pike Bros Omaha jacket, but reading some reviews the lining is very thick which makes it a restrictive fit. Does anyone have any input? I’d prefer a little room for a sweater.

Thanks

I have a 43.75 chest and took the L. I think they run really big. Unfortunately, the different N-1s at PB vary in size. The Elephant Skin in L is even wider (P2P) than the Omaha, the waxed in L is the same width but shorter in the sleeves and body and has narrower shoulders. That's why I always order several sizes and send back what doesn't fit.
Depending on the model, the L could still be something for you if you want to wear a thicker garment underneath. Mine is more of a t-shirt fit.

Thanks Mr.Proper for that information on the PB Jackets . I formerly had an ATF deck jacket that I grew out of , and I’d like to buy something a bit nicer in quality, seems like Bronsons pretty much sold out, and their customer service says they have no timeline on restocking. I’ve been hunting unmarked deck jackets. I know some people have used FiveStar leather for Leather Jackets and had great experience. I’ve noticed they’ve been doing non leather garments now as well.

Anyone here seen one of these out in the wild? Can’t find a single review online about their N-1. Either they’ve just hit the market or no one’s pulled the trigger which could cause some hesitation in purchasing.

Honestly? Depending on where you buy from and depending on the size, the 5* will cost you 200 - 250 EUR (XXL = 163,58 EUR + shipping + customs + VAT + DHL handling fee) and shipping is often quite expensive ($60?).
A PB Omaha costs 299 EUR + 16? shipping. The PB material is Jungle Cloth and the lining is 100% wool, the 5* is some kind of lining fabric (I once had a jacket whose lining looked exactly like this) and faux fur as lining.
I would rather go for the Mil-Tec N-1, which is available for around 80 EUR and is really not bad.
I maintain that there is no reason for a 5* considering the better alternatives.

I'd definitely skip 5* as well. Note that there are various other N1 options out there like Buzz Rickson and Iron Heart, but I think PB is fantastic in terms of value, especially if you manage to get one from the 2nd hand market like I did.

Based on your chest size I would suggest you go with a Large PB N-1 Deck jacket and believe you will find a Medium too restrictive, especially as you also want room to be a able to layer.
I have a 42 chest and have had four PB N-1 Deck jackets.
I started with an XL, which was too big, and then, for a number of reasons, worked my way through 3 L’s.
While all of the size Large jackets did fit me I found there was a noticeable variance in either sleeve length, chest or waist width between each one. Presumably this variance could be due to the jackets being made at different times or by different machinists.
Also, as has been noted by others on here I did find the sleeve pattern on all four (XL & L) to be very tubular.
I also have the dark blue Pike Brothers 1942 Deck jacket (which strangely is actually an XL but fits fine). Although this is obviously a different style and it has a slightly lighter weight of wool lining I actually prefer this over the N-1. To the extent all my PB N-1’s have now been moved on and only the 1942 version remains.

I Appreciate the response, Not that it’s an expensive coat for PB, but living in the states , I am a bit nervous about ordering the wrong size! I do like the looks of it and it’s within my budget. I sort of become a bit obsessive about it, I start measuring all my other jackets that fit create a list of measurements of jackets that fit me comfortably. I could probably fit into a Medium but I know I wouldn’t be able to wear a thick sweater underneath. It’s nice to get some perspective from other people who seem to be in the in between sizes.
