The Deck Jacket thread.

Gauging the fit of jackets which have a thicker lining from just the external measurements can certainly be tricky. Even with the same style of jacket different manufacturers can use different thicknesses of lining and it’s difficult to know how much internal space is taken up by each type.
On the basis that if a jacket is too tight or small it just won’t get worn if I have to I tend to err on the side of caution and prefer a jacket to possibly be slightly on the larger side.
I know it has already been said by others above but in my opinion when it comes to N-1’s the Pike Brothers version probably gives the best bang for buck out of all those currently on the market.

I also have the dark blue Pike Brothers 1942 Deck jacket (which strangely is actually an XL but fits fine). Although this is obviously a different style and it has a slightly lighter weight of wool lining I actually prefer this over the N-1.
I also think the jacket is great. However, I don't prefer it to the N-1, but see it as a good addition. Something for every temperature ;)
By the way, mine is an L.

Dear All,

Is there any guideline or advise on how tight the drawstring on the hem of a N-1 deck jacket should e adjusted ?

I am aware it depends on your figure, weight, and personal preference. But is there some guidance on this ?

Bought a RMC new, a fe weeks ago. And the lower part of the jacket "yawns" (No, not a big belly)

Help is highly appreciated.

Regards,

Duc
