Nick you've got a few flight jackets and waist length jackets haven't you? So the suggestions of a car coat or longer length jacket are good ones. They're also very practical and easy to wear jackets.

Lots of beautiful choices from multiple manufacturers as well. Seeing as you're in California, a nice light to mid weight car coat or even 3/4 length coat would I imagine be a great addition to your collection.

What am I looking at spending my tax return (plus a heap more) on?

Strangely enough, since I started tossing this idea around, my wife is a lot more open to me getting another jacket or two instead lol

If I may, I would suggest, as a few others here have already Nick, that you invest in an extra-special belt or boots and a cap (Ebbetts Field or similar) or hat for yourself - as you have the jacket aspect covered - and covered nicely.
I'd put this down to needs and wants - and you don't need another jacket (hey, hear me out before you all start throwing eggs 'n' lettuces and bad fruit at me, people!). I'd also say you could consider a holiday to treat yourself with (that depends on the amount you have of course). You've been studying hard and deserve a break somewhere after all of that.
But also, as someone who has been in that most-frightening and potentially catastrophic position of being awoken from your sleep to find an intruder actually inside your apartment, I'd also suggest Nick, that if you're dead-set on some leather, a vintage leather holster in really nice condition would be what I'd go for - with the vintage revolver to go with it! And some classes at the range - to meet more new people and have yet another hobby. And wear your jackets there!
But have fun deciding! Good for you for having some dosh to splash. You deserve it!

I've decided on an Aero Rockafella. Satisfies that cool 60s-70s vibe. Will probably go with russet vicenza. Maybe some od stitching. Now for the waiting for the refund!

Can anyone here chime in on the sizing? It runs very small correct? I want crazy, so I'll pick a lysergic-colored tartan.

:)

I don't know that the sizing is small exactly. The measurements might seem odd because the shoulders are broad and the chest is a closer fit. A definite V shape. But mine is one of the ones made for LVC; the new pattern is slightly different and the sizing could be different too.

Great choice. Are you going through Thurston?

I contacted Holly re the Hippie jacket first. I figured I'd try to see if that was still available. If not, probably the Rockefeller through Thurston. Whatever it is, rest assured the final product will be mindrocking. Cherry or Navy FQHH are not out of the picture. I think I'm late and most of that stuff is gone or not available in those styles but who knows. It's going to look like an acidic vision by the time I spec it out, and will surely be five years ahead of its time... :)

Also, they posted a new reverse leather/ suede 'fella on the site recently. If I freakout and decide to go a bit more LBJ at the last minute, I've fallen in love with that one too!

What about that sales one in goat? Been eyeing it for a while now. Seems like a really cool jacket. And have big fascination with button fronts at the moment

Black FQHH it will be. Was tempted to go with Dark Seal Vicenza, but I think I'll keep my pennies. I was THIS close to ordering some crazy concoction but a little angel told me, "you'll never wear it if you order some weird jacket like that".

Frantic google image searches landed me on a pic of Fanch's Teamster. Done deal. :)

Good choice and congrats. I've always thought the black Teamster would look very "Strangers in Paradise" with a black fedora: kind of early '60's Newark mafia thing. I'm still sitting on my tax money and trying to decide between a jacket, a Guild Orpheum guitar, travel, or paying off a chunk of the mortgage. Course if I sell the Gibson I could do a couple of those things. Rockafella? Black with a purple satin lining?
BTW, turned in my grades today and am "Free at last, free at last...!" Till Seprember!

Haha thanks David. A holster may be a good idea.
