Strange comments

I find it the same with me, except that Black men will often favorably comment on my hats; guess it's a cultural thing...(Like your avatar, by the way.)

Coincidentally, there is an African American gentleman at my community college that has occasionally complimented my hats (two or three times, I believe). We had actually had the chance to briefly discuss hats, and I mentioned where I had bought my Akubra and my vintage Stetson on eBay. Interesting that you mention this, Widebrim. Maybe it is a cultural thing, but also good taste.

I've been told that I dress like Humphrey Bogart, which I thought was swell.

I've also been told I'm trying to rip-off Michael Jackson's style, which I found humorous.

Dang, I could love to have somebody suggest I was Bogart-y

Robert Mitchum, John Wayne, Jimmy Stewart, Jimmy Cagney ... I'd love to have people think I was copying any of these classic guys

Frank Sinatra, Gary Cooper, Cary Grant, Gregory Peck ... also guys who looked great in hats.
Call me any of those guys
