My Blue Heaven:
The Saddle shoe and the last pair of spectators, my wife Tina found online, they were gifts, probably Christmas.
The second pair are from former Lounger SimonC who trades as SJC

Cool blue shoes. Blue shoes look so special paired with the correct stuff.

I have 2 pair of blue shoes. These are 1940's Elevator Shoes, https://www.thefedoralounge.com/threads/vintage-spectator-shoes.57145/page-30#post-2599222.

My second pair is a pair of blue and creme Eduard Meier spectators. These were made for Meier by Crocket and Jones.

I bought my dream shoes today. Love nothing better than a Silvano Lattanzi when it is done right.

Possibly the best shoes in the world today. Why? Because Mr Lattanzi bought a vintage stock of high quality leather in 1991 from Pebody when it closed down, he bought the entire stock, and l don't think any other shoemaker has leather like he does, even Hermes'. My ex shoemaker travelled the world working with various top bespoke shoemakers and/or examining their work in his travels throughout England and Italy and Europe, and he tells me he never saw any bespoke shoemaker use the quality of leather that Lattanzi uses.

I have been eyeing off those monks for many months. They are stunning. Purchasing a Lattanzi is the ultimate cause for celebration, it is a significant purchase and something really special. It's always a great moment when l first open the box, same goes with Vass.

Lattanzi are big bucks, and Mr Lattanzi is not shy about it. He sells to the jet set crowd who own the best of everything. Last year l spoke to Mr Lattanzi, and he offered to sell me this. I love the genius mind of Lattanzi, only he could think up something like this. Look at that antiquing and yellow part neat the front of the shoe, it gives it so much character. Now for the price.....18,000 euro. I didn't buy it because it was way out of my price range.

Mr Lattanzi has this unique mindset. He only wants to make the best, and it seems like he doesn't think the leather used on today's shoes is up to standard, and that is why he bought all that vintage leather years ago. He only wants to make shoes if he can make the best and use quality leather (my understanding, but l might have read it somewhere).

Mr Lattanzi likes the best of the best when it comes to clothes and footwear, and so do his clients. When it comes to alligator polo boots things start getting crazy. One alligator per boot, but the scales need to match, so he needs to search the world for twin alligators who have perfect matching scales (al almost impossible find), but it comes at a cost. Here is a pair made years ago that sold for 75,000 GBP, probably much more now.

Eric, Lattanzi's website is fascinating. Mr Lattanzi's mindset is fascinating. He works without limits because his exclusive clientele allows for it. While other bespoke makers need to compromise in order to keep prices down, Lattanzi does whatever he likes. He has made over 4,000 Lattanzi shoe models, and he has a museum full of every creation he has ever made.

This bloke is so under rated. He can do all the constructions, and due to the vintage leather he can do an antiquing that no-one else is able to (my bespoke shoemaker said that). He has this artistry that no other maker has IMO. He is the guy.

I can't wait to get the shoes on my feet.

When l got my first Lattanzi l was completely blown away. It was a work of art, and nothing l have compares to it. I have a stunning Cleverley bespoke in alligator made by one of the greats, but my Lattanzi is even better. This new Lattanzi will be just as good. I feel extremely lucky to own his shoes.

I nearly bought this shoe recently. The greatest example of Lattanzi's workmanship. Why? Because the uppers are completely hand sewn!!! See the slightly irregular stitching? Look!

The fit was going to be very close to my size, but l think it might have been a hair too narrow, so l had to decline. So sad, because these were my ultimate dream shoes. I have wanted this exact pair for about 10 years.

I wheeled and dealed a decent price, but even then it was a stretch. A shoe like that these days would probably be $15,000 USD or more under the Brioni name due to the handwork, but would cost about $30,000 under the Lattanzi name. I say that because because other alligator shoe in post above with machine stitched uppers is 18,000 euro where-as this shoe here has hand stitched uppers.

Have you ever seen anything like that Eric? Look at that wonderful crocodile. Look at all that handwork, especially on the upper where only the best makers can do that.

Would have had to get a special import licence to get it into Australia, but when it comes to something like this, it would be worth it. It is a one-of-a-kind shoe. Would be tempted to buy it as a display shoe, but not wearing such art would be criminal.

For me Eric, paying the money for the best shoes is worth every cent. I don't own the flashy cars or own the big mansions, but l do love to treat my feet. I am as big of a shoe lover as anyone could meet....I understand my product and know the value of a great shoe. Have never regretted buying a world class shoe.

I admired another alligator pair (chuckas) for their hand workmanship. Aditionally out of curiosity I have sourced a used pair I will try on next month during some business travel. I will try the suede brogued pair on and report back.

A retailer in NY who retails some of his shoes I quote here; "Poor people cannot afford to buy cheap things because they have to last." This quote accredited to be Polish in origion, rings true IMO.

I admired another alligator pair (chuckas) for their hand workmanship. Aditionally out of curiosity I have sourced a used pair I will try on next month during some business travel. I will try the suede brogued pair on and report back.

A couple more pics of my Lattanzi. They look much better in person, and they continue to WOW me every time l look at them. They actually look vintage with a great natural looking patina. Truthfully, they are the nicest and most perfect looking shoes l have ever seen, l can't stop looking at them.

I tried to take photos which do them justice, but impossible. None-the-less, a few more pics top celebrate greatness.

See the natural looking antiquing combines with the last, pattern and wide welt. The wide welt is actually a Lattanzi hallmark, and it enhances the shoe. Took me a while to get used to when l got my first pair, but it is the way the welt is done which adds to the character of his shoes.

The quality of the leather is like nothing I have ever seen. Normally with brogues, makers like John Lobb Paris and Vass will use lesser parts of leather, but with Lattanzi the quality is better than even on the top wholecuts put out by Lobb and Vass. The leather has a unique look and feel, and no other shoes l have seen have it. It would be the vintage leather l have talked about, hence the special antiquing effect Lattanzi gets on his vintage stock.

Some swanky shoes on view in here. I'm plain. I like Chelsea boots, desert boots and wallabees and have pretty much stuck with all those for 40 years now and can't see me changing. I can dress up/down with all that stuff without needing to try too hard thankfully. But there are some cools shoes up above, good on you all.
