I live in Australia so l don't need too many overcoats. As of today l now own three, and l consider that a lot.

My first decent overcoat was a very thick and heavy Baron Lee. It is navy with green and red in it, and it is nice. (might post pic another day).

My other coat is a vintage made-in-England Aquascutum. It is wool and very nice.

I purchased a dream coat tonight, a vintage made-in-England Aquascutum made in cashmere. Gorgeous and in great condition. I saw an identacle one 2 years ago and never bought it and regretted it.

A coat l was eyeing off was this. An Aquascutum with a fur collar. Was available a couple of years ago, but l chickened out, + it was a bit more than l wanted to pay at the time.

Three nice overcoats: Assistant U.S. Attornies for the Southern District of New York John Sevarese, Michael Chertoff, and Gilmore Childers pose outside courthouse after winning Commission trial November 19, 1986.

I’ve been watching boardwalk empire recently and blown away by the overcoats. Some fantastic coats flying around- does anyone know who made them?

The blu ray box comes with loads of extra's. They also elaborate on the costume department. If I remember correctly they assembled a team of costume makers. All custom made. No third party supplier.

I suspect that's pretty standard for most movies and TV shows these days. That's why costumes look like something but just a little bit off. Or they buy OTR stuff and heavily modify it. But I suspect custom made. After all, it just has to look good on screen and hold together for a few weeks, not last 10 years or actually perform in bad weather, etc.

I had a conversation with a lady that works as a costumer for movies. She works what is called the "Breakdown" department. It is her job to age/wear/deteriorate the actors clothing to suit the scene. She said that they needed at least 6 sets of each wardrobe to cover continuity and all the possible scenarios and all the possible reshoots of the scenes.
