haha...thankfully I work with people who dont care what folks look like...so I just pulled it all back...

now you see why I don't do this everyday...

I have the same problem. I have them in a few hours before bed, then sleep 8 hours, then have to get up and sit under the dryer for about a half hour!!

It was worth it tho for 4 days, lol!

yea....I wish I had that much time on a weekday though....

I get up at 5:30.....to leave the house by 6:00-6:15.......

So I just either need to cut hair shorter...so there is generally less.....or forget having spiffy hair on weekdays.

Miss Neecerie, my hair takes forever to dry too. Ugh, what a pain in the butt! Lately I've just been using a misting of setting lotion on dry hair and then sleeping in the Sassy Curlers, and I'm having great results. Not only are they easier to put in, but they are much more comfortable to sleep in. Also, I think my hair dries faster when I use these. The sponge rollers seem to absorb water which prevents my hair from drying. The foam sticks seem to not absorb water, and I think thats why my hair dries faster with them. I used to think the only way I could get my hair to curl was to have it sopping wet with setting lotion. My hair ended up still wet in the morning and if it did dry it was crunchy. Now I'm using barely damp hair with highly concentrated setting lotion. My hair is not crunchy at all, and for the first time I can actually brush out my hair and not lose any curls. I used to not be able to do this. If I tried to brush out my hair after setting it, it would end up straight again. This method I've been using has been working wonders. I set my hair on Friday night, and I still have a nice wave to it today. I'm gonna set it again tonight and see if I can get the same results. One of these days, if I can get the confidence, I'll post pictures.
Good Luck Miss Neecerie:D

Most of the time, I set my hair when it is dry (or very close to being completely dry), and then pat my hair with water. This dampens my hair just enough to activate the set, but not so much that I will wake up with wet hair. I also find that it is much faster to set dry hair, as it is easier to neatly wind the sections around each curler.

I set my wet hair with plenty of Lottabody in pincurls on Saturday. Today (Tuesday), I still have quite a bit of curl. I am really liking the Lottabody; even though my hair felt crunchy when it was drying, after I brushed it out, it was very silky!

I always have a hard time with my hair taking forever to dry in a set as well... I just end up wearing a headwrap or scarf over my pincurls for nearly a day (I just can't do rollers, they hate me :rage: lol)... I try to plan it for a day when I'm not doing much, but c'est la vie! We suffer for our beauty, don't we?

My attempt at Jitterbugdoll's three rolls. They're a bit squiffy, but I'll keep practicing!

This is what my hair does when I put it into big pincurls overnight. It's not particularly vintage, but I like it.

By the second day the curls have more or less fallen out, but my hair still has some volume and a bit of curl at the ends, which looks slightly more vintage than plain straight hair.

ooh Emblaze you look fantastic! I wanted to share my style with you ladies after taking the curlers out but I had an awful reaction to the setting lotion and had to go and wash it out :( I'll be sticking to gel spray from now on

I set my hair last night with the purple Queen Helene setting lotion and the sassy curlers. My hair was a bit more damp than usual, and I used much bigger sections this time. I was going for more of a wave than a tight curl. I had to buy a new slumber cap, for the cute lace one that I have is pretty worn out. I opted to buy a cute blue satin one with a lace ruffle. I read somewhere that the satin helps control frizz.
Well I woke up at 6 this morning after tossing and turning all night (no matter how comfy the curlers, I just don't get a good night sleep in them) and started to take out the curlers. It must've been a combination of the thicker sections and the satin sleeping cap, but my hair was still damp. My old sleeping cap was lace, the holes in it let the air in and helped my hair to dry. I re-rolled the few curlers that I took out and held a hair dryer on high heat to my head in the hopes that the curls would dry a bit more. This seemed to work. I took the curlers out and had very tight, rather large ringlets. I lightly brushed them out with a paddle brush in sections while misting with extra hold hair spray and a shine spray too.
By the time my hair was all in place I was pretty pleased. It was a bit poofy at first, but it calmed down in a short time. The front piece on the opposite side of my part had a great big wave to it. I sprayed this piece extra good, I didn't want to lose the first wave I had ever successfully accomplished.

Anyway, this was the first time that I felt confident not pulling my hair back at the sides. Usually when I wear my hair curly, I have to pull part of it back for I just have too much of it. However I think the next time I will use a more concentrated setting lotion. Over the course of the day it started to get looser than I wanted it to, so I added some Frizz Eaze Mousse and this seemed to help. The last set I did lasted over 3 days, and I only had to freshen it with hot sticks once. I think this time I added a bit too much water to the set, so even though I love the curls that I got from taking the bigger sections, I'm not sure how long it will last. If I just have to touch it up, or sleep in the curlers again without washing it out or using a ton more product, then I'll be happy. If it still looks decent tonight, I'll try to get some pictures up. My main problem is that my hair is so poker straight that the slightest bit too much brushing will loosen all the curls. I want my hair to look neat, so I have to brush it out, but I just have to remember to not get too over zealous with the brush. I've put some large metal clips at the indentations in the wave in the front (if that makes any sense) just to keep it in good shape while I sit around doing nothing. I sprayed it, so I think that part will be fine.

Now, onto Lottabody. I ordered some, I couldn't find it anywhere near me. But there are a bunch of different kinds. I know some have mentioned using the purple liquid, but most of the different types are purple. So I got a really big bottle of what seems to be the right kind. The label on the web that I saw actually says that using Lottabody helps your hair remember curls. I'm assuming that this means that if I do a wet set one night with it and then need to freshen the curl up the next, I can just put dry rollers in and sleep in them, and the original product that is still in my hair will still work. Is this true? I like the setting lotion I'm using now, but I'm just about all out and I figured I'd give this other stuff I try because so many ladies highly recommend it. I also got some sort of Lottabody creme setting lotion that is supposed to be extra conditioning. I don't know if I have the right hair type to use this. I love the Bumble and Bumble curl enhancing creme that I have, it works great but I go through quite a bit of it and it's $28 a bottle! So I figured that I'd give the Lottabody creme a try. Has anybody ever tried it?

Gosh sorry for going on! I have a bad habit of rambling. You gals are gems for putting up with most of my nonsensical babbling!! Must be due to the fact that I spend my days alone at home:( I think even my kitties are sick of hearing me talk!!:p

emblaze; Great hair picture! You look great :)
When putting my hair up in rollers, my hair has to be pretty much totally dry...to make sure the curls come out great, I put some gel throughout my hair then start rolling.
