This was today's project. I can't find a date on the pattern but it's maybe late 50s early 60s. A good friend of mine sent me a huge box of fabric from her Mother's stash. Her Mom doesn't sew anymore so she passed some fabric and patterns on to me :)

I don't often post my stuff, because all my dresses pretty much look the same -- but I like this one a lot. Hollywood pattern 1244, $2-a-yard calico from Wal Mart which has held up fairly well in the washing.

Oh my gosh Lizzie, you should post yourself and your creations more often. You look so authentic. The calico has a nice drape too.

Thanx for the kind words, all. I've actually made four copies of that dress off the same pattern, including one done in an exact duplicate of that fabric print, except in green instead of rose. I do not, however, have matching green socks for that one...

I haven't done much sewing lately because my eyes are giving me trouble -- it's getting much harder to see well enough to thread the machine -- so I've got a pile of unused fabric waiting.

I've been on a bit of a dress-making mission lately, sorry for the rubbish photos - I have to use my phone camera :)

First one is Simplicity Lisette 2209 in some fabric I had in my stash. It came together really quickly and fits surprisingly well, even though it's modern. Hard to see the bust detail on this fabric though.

Simple gathered skirt with poppy print (I was going to make a matching bodice for a dress, but it was a bit much)
