For all the fans of the Akubra Banjo Paterson here is it's namesake.

We all know of the Akubra Snowy River; most of us have probably seen the Kirk Douglas movie by that name; here's the book it was based on:

On a final note I have enjoyed looking into Andrew "Banjo" Paterson a bit. Remembered mostly as a poet an annual "Banjo Paterson Australian Poetry Festival" is held in his honor & the next festival will be held February 16-26, 2017.

He was also a bit of a songwriter & wrote the lyrics to "Waltzing Matilda"

And is the namesake for A.B. Paterson College where both male & female College Captains wear hats as part of their official uniform. Marine Madsen is College Captain for 2016.
