I just stumbled on this last night and thought it was pretty nifty. Anyone have anything from Dragon Models or know anything about?
I'm aware of King and Country. Are there any other quality scale model WWII makers? I'd like to find AAF-related stuff.

I am seeing some figures for less money on, of course, eBay.

KAT, these are rather large, aren't they?

I see there are vehicles (motorcycles with sidecars), horses, etc.

my "JEB" Darling got a highly felxible 1/6 (12") body, authentic uniform featuring fully detailed decorations, life-like head with character, triple jointed arms and legs, and each piece of equipment is accurately reproduced in 1/6 scale . Oh I was laughing when i got him ...with his Airborne first aid kit, T-5 Parachute, Bar M 1918A2 w/Bipod, the Bar Bel M1937 and all that stuff like knives, life vest, a shovel.......everything is really detailed. Yeah i heard there are smaller versions of it. Yeah it comes with a lot of extras! I LOVE THOSE!!!
My little Private was really expensive and goes on ebay for a lot of $$$$
but hes so worth it ;) another reason people call me crazy.
Helmut and Jeb make a good team even though they dont wanna admit it ;)
They bring my coffee to bed..every Saturday:D

Action Man USAAF WWII scale model (photo)

Thought you might like this one. I'll see if I can get him out of the box. BT reminded me of this 'daring-do, heroic, ruggedly handsome model with the scar on the cheek!'

There is a pull string at the back that when you pull and release, he will snap out commands such as: "Captain, load my B17 with the crates of Guinness!"

Just look at the detailing on that A-2, it almost looks like leather! The life like hair is a bit synthetic, but I feel that all adds to this ACTION MAN'S character.

Bear in mind, that this is from the early 70's, so he's not as hi-tech as some of the models you get today.

WW2 styled toy dolls for grown ups!

I'm just amazed how far these things have come since I had my first Pallitoy Action Man in the 60s. I must have had one of the 1st, as his hair was painted on!! He was a German Wermacht Officer. But then I bought the other uniforms. Even in 1968 or so, I got him a NASA astronaut outfit!!! All signs of the times I guess. But just look at these ones by Elite Force and Dragon and other companies, the detailing in some is just staggering!! And you can get anything from a Battle of Britain RAF Fighter pilot, to the Luftwaffe to a US Infantry officer on D-Day!!

A lot of makers, some really neat stuff

On the internet, one link leads to another.
So now I've found figures from numerous makers, most of them in amazing detail.
When you find a figure labeled "Gen. Hasso von Manteuffel," that's detail!

Gerhard Franzky experienced the fierce battles on the Eastern Front of WWII with the 10th SS Panzer Div. before he traveled to Yugoslavia with the famous German commando Otto Skorzeny. He's the real deal who has actually lived it. And, a genuine gentleman.

Mark your calendar June 9~11, 2006, for another fantastic Weekend of Heroes at the Ontario Convention Center, Ontario, California.
