Thanks BB. It's so soft it's hard to hold a crease when wearing it.Such a badass hat!

Not wanting to add any to this one either.Wow! I've never applied stiffener to a hat that old.
Incredible hat!Got this in from the bay, couldn’t resist , I’ve seen a few Montgomery wards hats that were very good, this one feels almost as good as my real nutria Stetson, 2” sweat has fallen out completely but I think I’ll get restored and wearable. 3 7/8” brim and 6 1/2” crown, says “San Frall quality” thought that was weird but it matches description of the Stetson San All from the 1930s wish I could find in old caTalog, love the liner .
Very cool hat. Love the liner. Quite a nice Western to be sure.Got this in from the bay, couldn’t resist , I’ve seen a few Montgomery wards hats that were very good, this one feels almost as good as my real nutria Stetson, 2” sweat has fallen out completely but I think I’ll get restored and wearable. 3 7/8” brim and 6 1/2” crown, says “San Frall quality” thought that was weird but it matches description of the Stetson San All from the 1930s wish I could find in old caTalog, love the liner .
The Superior Hat for Bush Hat co. Dakota model.
Interesting hat. What seems like the price tag is very faded but I believe it says 2.50. Tagged size 7 but as you can see, it's pretty small. The leather is still pliable and doesn't appear to have shrunk, but seems a bit less substantial than the early Stetsons I've handled. Felt is moldable, but certainly more coarse in finish than any of my pre-war hats. 5 1/2" open crown, 3 1/4" brim.
Wow it looks to have shrunk down to a 6 3/4 based on that photo of you wearing it. Are you attempting to stretch it back to size?
A beautiful old western! What are the dims? Looks like maybe a 4” brim and 6 1/3 crown? It’s awesome
Great one Jesse. Glad it came to you! Here’s a fixer upper I gave some TLC from eBay. No stickers indicating who made it. Still, couldn’t resist! The seller told me he bought it 30-40 years ago from a dealer in Santa Monica who was selling old wild west antiques. The seller claimed it had been originally sourced from an MGM studio auction. So, although I do not know who made it, I wonder if it ever had any screen time. The felt is on the stiffer side, comparable to the early No. 1 quality Stetson hats. The ribbon was originally black but has since faded to a beautiful worn copper. I did some minor hole patch work as well as installed a new sweatband and liner. LOLOLA recent find that will be "on display" for quite a while. A "custom" made for Mell's Hat Shop in Chicago (not to be confused with Mell's Diner).
5 1/2 in crown, 2 3/4 in bound brim, 3/4" frayed mid-ribbon.
1 7/8" tape seam unreeded textured sweat inside marked by the company and "Leather Warranted" plus something else. Hard to read or photograph...leather is really nice and soft.....
Felt has a sort of short hair finish hard to photograph. Felt is really, really thin and soft, with a really nice hand. Sure wish it was my size.......then I could wear it once in a while........
