I think this might be a cloth based sweatband. The separation doesn't appear to be from stretching.

STEVE......AMAZING haul!!! Those pre-war hats are just spectacular!! The 2 Echter Borsalino pencil curled upbrims are, in my opinion, the perfect style of hats. I am a sucker for early upbrims and pencil curls, and those two definitely do not disappoint. And the finish on that Hückel Loden....it just doesn't get any better than that. Well done!!!

Josh, Thanks! The Echter Borsalinos are definitely special. I also really like the BB "Luxor" wool. I think it has a really nice brim treatment and overall form.
