Any concern about the 3# of mercury per gallon of processing water?
It would seem to me that the mercury must still be in the fibers of the hat. The modern alternative (H2O2) would be something you could smear all over yourself but the mercury hasn't gone anywhere. Do you 40's and prior hat collectors concern yourselves much w/ that?
