....and this one was a swap with Garrett, a Lion Hat.

Nice hatting safari, Bolt -- I see you bagged a Lion...:D Man, I love that hat. Could you post a close-up of what's going on with the ribbon on the left side of the hat? It almost looks like the button on the ribbon is connected to a wind-string -- or am I seeing things?

Fantastic lid -- tell us all about it when you get a chance. :eusa_clap

Cheers,

Here's my latest eBay purchase: It's obviously a Stratoliner which was refurbished quite some time ago. I'm thinkin' "Jay Bee" is J. B. Stetson's refurb dept., no?

Fed IV

Here are some pictures of my new Fed IV.

<a href="http://s242.photobucket.com/albums/ff31/rerog65/hats/?action=view&current=100_0359.jpg" target="_blank"><img src="http://i242.photobucket.com/albums/ff31/rerog65/hats/100_0359.jpg" border="0" alt="Fed IV 3"></a>

<a href="http://s242.photobucket.com/albums/ff31/rerog65/hats/?action=view&current=100_0358.jpg" target="_blank"><img src="http://i242.photobucket.com/albums/ff31/rerog65/hats/100_0358.jpg" border="0" alt="Fed IV 4"></a>

And this last one is posted to show the bash. I spent about 15 minutes on it Christmas Eve while waiting for the kids to go to sleep.

<a href="http://s242.photobucket.com/albums/ff31/rerog65/hats/?action=view&current=100_0354.jpg" target="_blank"><img src="http://i242.photobucket.com/albums/ff31/rerog65/hats/100_0354.jpg" border="0" alt="Fed IV 6"></a>

It wasn't a Christmas gift and I bought it myself (meaning my wife didn't know about it until a couple of days before it got here). But it arrived on Christmas eve and it sure made my Christmas!

Jimmy, you're right....there's a trolley on it, but for some unknown reason they have the button attached to the ribbon. [huh]

Upon careful inspection, it looks like it's tacked with some sort of little metal clip, not a stitch.

I have to try and get that clip out and let the button sit where it should, naturally. I think it looks silly the way it is. :eusa_doh:

I dunno, Bolt -- I think the button looks pretty cool that way. It gives the lid a unique look. What can you tell us about the felt, etc.? I'm all ears to learn about Lion Lids! ;)

Great bash, rrog! It really gives the crown that "stove-pipe" look that vintage hats have.
I agree. That crown shape works really well on you. I tho't your Stylemaster looked good on you but your new Fed IV works even better.
