That works really well Bob. I'm hoping to get a nice hat/coat rack one of these days. My hats are currently hung on the wall of a storage shelf with push pins used as "hooks". I nice hat stand really adds something, and should work great for rotating the hats around.

I won it on eBay for $50 shipped. Once I opened the box I saw the hat was a bit nicer than I expected, so I'm pleased.

I arrived home this afternoon to find this at the door.
A Borsalino Alessandria in size 7 1\2 !

I never thought I would get one, but I did!

It had a cattleman crease but when I moved the felt it went right to a c-crown! Man this is a sweet hat! the brim is 2 7\8s , the front pinch is 4 1\2 and the back of the crown is 4 inches.

I also had a thin ribbon summer straw from SunBody waiting but I will put that in another thread.

RBH,
That's a beauty...in my size too.
I tried on a dark brown Borsalino Como yesterday and now I want one. The feel of the felt is soo soft.

Confratulation on your latest purchase.

That listing shows several finish colors, Bob, and none seems as dark as yours. Did you specify a finish when ordering/bidding? I like the look of yours better than any of the three pictured on that page.

If I remember correctly the seller had white, oak or, I believe, walnut, though I'm not sure about the walnut. Mine is called natural oak. The white was out of stock when I bid on the one I won. I didn't specify a finish, but I thought the oak would work the best for me and that was what was up for bid.

That looks good on you,, MrH. The color looks a little darker in the last picture than the first two, and I like it better. You can't go wrong with a gray fedora.

Thank you Bob, very kind of you to comment. It means a lot coming from someone with such a great collection of hats.

The last few hats I've won on eBay have been duds, but I've just received this little gem which makes up for the all the disappointments. It is in unworn condition, has a Cavanagh edge, and fits really well. Though it was smashed pretty flat by the postal services, it has popped back into shape with no problem. Great quality felt!

RBH, that is a very nice Alessandria! Looks like you worked your "magic" in the crease.

Mr. H-Nice Scala; the darker color depicted in the pic where you are wearing it is great. Is that the better color or is it lighter as in the other two photos?

Ken "Hollywood", It will be interesting to see what you do with the Scala you got. I like the wide brim look.

Jauntyone, great stingy but that Campdraft....your best look!

Mr.Paladin, I will wear it till it falls apart. First it needs a good cleaning and steaming with my wife's clothes steamer. Then Ill Jazz it up a bit with a few tweaks here and there. It should be good as new. My great Grandfather wore a black one. I reshaped my Dobbs today and it looks swell.

I know very little about hats myself, but for 13 bucks, that really looks quite nice.

A great find, looks like.
