Good looking hat! Congratulations.
Thank you!
Good looking hat! Congratulations.
Very Nice! The dimensions look perfect.A few pics of this black Nutria after just a dry brushing. It's a 3-ply ribbon with gold or copper thread seams.

Thanks DD. It's a 3" bound edge x 5-3/4" (maybe 6") open crown. It's hard to measure the open crown without a T-square. I really like these hats.Very Nice! The dimensions look perfect.

It will be interesting to see if Mike can do something about the stain. If it weren't for the kindness of my fellow loungers, it would have been a long dry spell. In a trade with Bill Hughes, I finally met my goal of having a vintage vita-felt Stetson. By way of our own @splintercellsz this Stetson "The Avenue" vita-felt in an interesting plum like brown color. It has an unfortunate stain on the top of the brim that will need some work, but otherwise in very good shape for a 75 year old hat. Nice sweat and liner and wow, the feel!! I always wondered what was the buzz about these, now I know. Tomorrow I'm taking it down to Mike Miller for a little nudge up in size. I'm scare to death of messing it with it myself!

Thank you Scott.Beautiful. I really like that hat Jack. Nice find.
I do like the look of it very much, Reggie. I have one Borsalino Film and it's a wonderful hat. I missed out on a sale that JJ Hat center had of them recently (would have liked one in navy or taupe). This past weekend my local hat shop guy called me and said he had a new special addition Borsalino that just arrived to his store. He said, “It’s called the Bogart”!
I guess Borsalino’s new management is trying to loosen up with a campy marketing campaign.
The hat is your typical modern mass production Borsalino. A nice high crown dress hat. The felt is a little thicker than the Como and Bellagio models. It reminds me of the older Film model
Color is Sebino, or Slate Grey.
Brim width approximately 3& 5/8”
The hat came blocked with a 4&3/4” crown and a 2 “ ribbon.
A double stamp defect next to the sweat band Borsalino signature.
I thought you guys would get a kick out of this new Borsalino novelty Fedora!

It's a real beauty, Stefan.
Thanks, Reggie. I don't have a lot of use for an Ascot, but I couldn't say no.Awesome! I thought the Grey lords was hot, but this one is just awesome.
Nice addition to the fold, Mike. Nice proportions and I like that wider stitched overwelt. If it weren't for the kindness of my fellow loungers, it would have been a long dry spell. Not with a bound edge brim @ 3".I like it. I like it alot. Cool ribbon contrast.
You gonna put a curl in this one Jack?
Original Mayser Milz & Cie. "Carlton, Sämisch Extra" 62cm probably mid 1950s. The light green felt has a Chamois finish and easily dry creases. I have never seen one like this before so very unique. The color and finish will look much better in natural light.
Awesome save. Wish the brim had another 1/4”.Knox Twenty in dark grey. Size 7 1/8 with a 2 1/2 felted edge brim:
Remnants of old foam reducer tape visible:
Thin, soft, dress-weight felt that is oh so easy to shape. I wish it was my size.
This was a rescue hat and will be added to the classifieds as soon as I can get some natural light photos that capture the true color.
