Yep, that crease seals the deal...well any crease would have sealed that deal, but especially that one!
Good hat for a good guy!

GOODGODIGOTAGANNON!

My first Gannon and it is amazing. A Granite body, bound brim, and a Slate ribbon. The medium gray is just what I was looking for; lighter outdoors in daylight and darker (more formal) in the shade. Fit and finish are superb. Size is spot-on (I’m one of those “tweens). It is a 4 ½ finished teardrop with a 2 3/8 brim and 1 ½ ribbon. The Slate is a funny beast, a definite purple cast along the top and bottom edges but fades to gray along the center (at least, against a gray body).

Good looking hat, RM. Great color combo. Mr. G scores again.

Glad you're happy.

This past weekend my local hat shop guy called me and said he had a new special addition Borsalino that just arrived to his store. He said, “It’s called the Bogart”!

I guess Borsalino’s new management is trying to loosen up with a campy marketing campaign.
The hat is your typical modern mass production Borsalino. A nice high crown dress hat. The felt is a little thicker than the Como and Bellagio models. It reminds me of the older Film model

Color is Sebino, or Slate Grey.
Brim width approximately 3& 5/8”
The hat came blocked with a 4&3/4” crown and a 2 “ ribbon.

A double stamp defect next to the sweat band Borsalino signature.

I just received a new hat from Rick Walker at Phoenix Custom Hats. This is my second order from Rick, and I have been extremely pleased with both hats! This one is a natural beaver felt with navy ribbon. I think it will be a great casual hat to wear with a jean jacket or blue jeans and button-up shirt.

I'll post more over on the Phoenix thread for those who are interested. Y'all have a great weekend!

Regan

Sometimes the French tendency to keep things to themselves pays off. This one flew under the radar because the seller had it listed to ship inside France only. He was very forthcoming however when I asked him if he would ship it to Les Pays Bas.
We had a deal in no time at all. What can I say? The stars aligned for this one.
Guiseppe Borsalino was an apprentice at Berteil and apparently Berteil didn't forget their pupil when they stopped making hats themselves. Borsalino made this for his old teacher (well, sort of).
Borsalino Nutria in Rodio colour. Felted edge at 5,5cm and crown 10cm at the pinch. Ribbon in the colour Asfalto. The bow is attached further inward to leave the bow ends loose. Liner is not Borsalino, but Berteil. Very lightweight hat at 85 grams and the felt is not as "springy" as other nutria hats, but shapes with no effort at all. I get the feeling this was a top of the line hat.
Biggest surprise: it's not all that old actually: 1980!

Here's something we don't see every day. A borsalino formal hat (not a homburg but more formal than that). Borsalino Ascot in Argento colour. I thought it to be older than it in fact is. If the label theory holds up this should be 1979. It's a bit more dirty than the pictures show, but I haven't cleaned it yet. I won't wear it anyway. Came with a nice borsalino box too.
I do have another ascot, made by Tonak, but this one leave that one at the starting line, never to be seen again.
