Gillette Clothing Company hat arrived today.
I am impressed with the quality. Hat looks like it was rarely worn.
Granted it is a copy of a Stetson Open road but the price has me thrown off a little considering it is pure beaver.
The box is thinner cardboard and the strap is vinyl.
I was going to order a nice leather hatband for it, but I think 'll leave it alone.

Sharp hat, but not an OR clone. Any info on the company?Gillette Clothing Company hat arrived today.

A. Peschel Dinkelsbühl "Flexible" probably very late 1960s made specially made for Fur House Rudolf Becker Hats, Siegen i/W - Schirme. This is a brim up hat but less formal than a Homburg. Machine formed but the felt has a very soft hand and the overall workmanship is of high quality. This is a later hat but I was attracted to its great / classic form.

Alan, Thank you! I agree! This one has a softer brim but the thin brim binding forces the brim up. I like it.Very nice. The thin ribbon brim binding upbrim seemed to have had a very brief run in U.S. hats between 1955-1960. I like the look it gives to the more traditional and dressy homburg.
Nice find, Steve. I quite like that style of hat. Offers a bit of a change between either homburg or fedora.A. Lovely. A priest hat: don't see many of those around here on the lounge. Cool find.

That is a very nice piece of Borsalino history, Daniele. Pity it's not my size.
Bombetta G.B. Borsalino fu Lazzaro built around the 20s of the last century
Qualità Finissima. In black felt. Size is 59 cm. or 7 3/8 US
The bowler is intact, no sign of moths or dents in the form
The construction is sublime and the finishes as well
Here you have the interior with white lining, the sweatband is without cracks, but a little fragile, so no picture of the paper label
There are traces of dirt on the lining, but no others faults
On the sweatband the golden G.B. Borsalino fu Lazzaro with the indications of the 1911 Torino prize
It was sold in Milano Grande Cappelleria - Fermo Cabella still existing
It needs some little works, but for the around 100 years it is still in perfect shape
PM if you are interested. The size is good for me and I'm between 59 and 60
