This baby is navy blue in color, which looks black depending on the lighting

The felt is ridiculously soft, and takes any dry crease with ease. I'm happy to add this to the collection

Justin:
Another of another of another outstanding heirloom hat!!
I seriously think you need to incorporate and start; “***** Fine Felt Fedora Acquisitions LLC”.
Think of all the hat...err...tax write offs you could have!

Now my mind is workin', thanks B! I sold all my C&Ks, so having one back into the rotation was a high priority, and this is probably the nicest one I've owned

What a stunning blue! The sheen on the felt is beautiful. Another amazing piece of history.

This came last Saturday from a trade with @jonbuilder. A Stetson 7X Clear Beaver Open Road in outstanding condition. I think it must have been refurbished/cleaned at some point as there are no labels behind the sweatband. The liner is sewn in but I can see needle marks in the liner from where it was sewn before. It’s a really nice hats which is vintage 50s (I think). I must admit I thought the color was gonna be a bit different. The last picture is a Knox I have for a comparison. Very close to the same color. BTW the Knox is the better of the two - IMHO.

The postman dropped off a wonderful gift from Brent (@deadlyhandsome) today. A late 1950s to 1961 Resistol 880 in a nice even brown shade. With a brim of 2 1/4", Brent called it a stingy, but I hardly think so. Perfect straight sides to the crown. Took a diamond crease without any steam, fantastic light weight felt. The 880 was named for the new airliner, the Convair 880 which was first flown in 1958. It was not a big success for Convair as it was up against the new Boeing 707 at the time. Elvis bought one and pimped it out, calling it the Lisa Marie. Can't thank Brent enough, it has been kind of a dry spell for new hats of late.

I’m glad you like it, Mike. It really doesn’t look stingy on you, and I would have worn the heck out of it if it was in my size. The felt was just too nice not to get it and I know you don’t have an aversion to smaller brims.

Good luck with the remodel (better you than me). :)

I really like that color, and I think the proportions suit you well - it looks like it belongs on your head. Very nice hat and a nice gesture, for certain.

where did you come up with all these 7 1/4 hats? They are quite a few sizes smaller than you. This one is interesting, you don't often see a back bow in this configuration. Nice hat.

The Resistol was a local find that I couldn’t let go. The Stetson Medalist was an online sale but the hat had languished for many months so I made an offer knowing someone here would enjoy it. The Medalist is pristine and the back bow was something I hadn’t seen before on a straw.
