Another recent find.
Cambiaghi in brown. This one has some wear and has certainly some (or a large part) wool content (I'll keep it away from the Lupo hat). Size 56, brim 6,5cm and crown 10cm at the pinch. Looks like it had a crown patch at one time; nothing inside it now. One label inside the hat, that doesn't tell us anything. Style, colour and proportions are spot on and the craftsmanship that shows what they could do with lesser felt qualities shines through.

New fall arrival. One of Stetson’s latest models, Bogie in Phantom Grey, Excellent quality. 2 &1/2”brim with approximately a 4 & 1/2” crown. Pretty supple to the touch and reasonably well made. Overall pretty satisfied with this one. Will have to work it into the rotation.

WOW! I love that one, Daniele. Just a beautiful hat and still has the basting stitches at the top of the ribbon for when the hats were stacked.

Killer hat in all the right places except you'd think it would have a liner that would top it to perfection!

This one's been on a wish list for some time, Bob. I've had to let a number of wish list hats go lately but the timing was a little better on this one. Bargains on these hats are more rare than the hats themselves. It came along when the war chest had a little more in it than it usually does and SHE was in DC for work.

Black Akubra Federation. I was expecting it to be a Fed IV but my last IV was marked as such on the sweatband. The sweat just says “Federation.” This hat also doesn’t seem as boxy as my IV.

Black Puerto Fino Tuscany:

I was surprised to find it had a 3 1/8” brim. The felt is just average, but not bad; nicer than your average Akubra...damned with faint praise? It came with a factory pressed-in crease, but went to open crown without much fuss and with a moderate amount of steam.

I’m not a big fan of black fedoras; they have to be a perfect hat or very cheap. This was the latter.

As you can see, it has a deeply flanged raw edge brim. The liner is simple, but sewn in. The sweat is thin and comfortable, but does not inspire a belief in its longevity. Certainly a step up from current Stetson Royal hats...and I’m back to damning it with faint praise.

You guys have got me playing with my hats again. Another pre fall arrival. The Vintage Silhouettes box arrived on Monday. Always a treat to get a special delivery form Art Fawcett, a delightful gentleman.

2&3/8” brim 5&1/2” crown. Color Camel kind of on the yellow tone side. I’ve got the perfect camel coat to match.

Great felt. Quite pleased with this one. Can’t wait to step out in this bad boy.
