What a beautiful Mayser, Steve!

Came across two at “no brainer “ prices the other day.

First is a Resistol “saddler” from 1985 and only needed a bit of cleaning and a gentle stretch. Some of the stitching at the back of the sweatband immediately buckled from the stretch but fits like a glove now.

Great looking hats there fellas!

Always a nice place to see and read up on you new found vintage and new alike acquirement of your favorite make and model.

Here is my other contri that i had just picked up today. Not too sure of the age and real value of this topper, but nonetheless in fine form.

No sign of real wear abuse or the slightest discoloration from sweat, pitting, marks what so ever.

Hamanahamana, Justin. Sometimes I wish I lived in the States. Which would be the best state to live in for hat collecting, i.e. finding hats in antique stores, etc? Good fishing would be a plus.

Mayser "Spezial", 59cm, early 1960s. The felt on this one is fantastic, great finish + dyeing, very dense and easily dry creases. I also really like the dimensions and form. The overall quality is very high. The liner is spot glued so this is another example of when that transition occurred (early 1960s).

Mayser Advertising Stand, also a recent find.

Excellent homburg, Steve. Nice find. I had a Mayser from Willenbrink with the same imprint on the sweatband and that one was actually dated: 3. dez. 1960. Also with a glued in liner. So give or take a year that's the date on these (assuming Willenbrink didn't celebrate for several years).
