Burton-Taylor seller said it fit a 23" head but left out that its marked a 1/4!
Also missing a chunk out of the sweatband and looks like somone tried to spot clean it as we'll , despite all of that the felt is in nice shape for an old hat. Fortunately there's no fading issues so the color is pretty consistent overall. It's the sort of beater hat I like as it has very classic lines and the ribbon width suits my taste.

Cool, thanks for info on the burton Taylor - it's the first one I've seen, I like this one cause its liner less and has a stamp directly onto the felt.

I was excited to receive this Dobbs West "Stagecoach" derby in the mail today, and for good reason! The black velvety felt is perfect, the grey binding glows, I adore the tall crown and more westernized pencil roll of the brim. It's really a beautiful specimen!

Even the box was cool!

But...

it was not even close to the 22.5" approximated on the auction.

I knew it was a risk, but gave the seller the benefit of the doubt. Turns out it's tagged a 7 3/8 inside the sweatband, but I still think it probably fits closer to a 7 1/2, as it rests... um... comfortably just below the bridge of my nose.

Here is my first custom hat, courtesy of our very own Major Mike. The felt color is actually a couple shades darker than represented in the picture, a medium gray with just a hint of a taupe undertone (or maybe a dark taupe with a hint of gray) and a navy blue ribbon with cream accent to match the brim binding. I am quite enamored with it, what's your verdict?

Meant to mention, 4 1/2 in. crown in front, 4 in back, 2 5/8 in brim all the way round.
