Akubra Stingy Brim

Well, for no particular reason (except that I decided I wanted one), I just bought and received an Akubra Stingy Brim fedora from hatsdirect.com.

I like it. It's a bit more casual and snazzy than other fedoras I have. Definitely will be good for more casual outings. It's a very light fur felt that is unlined, so it may even be fairly comfortable up until the hottest of the summer months. Only time will tell.

Wegener Colonel

Wegener Colonel, size 59cm. This one has a Homburg like look if not snapped. I am thinking late 50s early 60s. This was a mystery hat that turned out to be a nice find.

Dunn & Co. London Bowler

Dunn & Co. London Bowler, size 60cm. Just received this nice Bowler. Not sure on the dating but was thinking early to mid 1950s.

Stetson panama fedora

My first hat purchase (other than my old cowboy hat bought many years ago). I won this last night on ebay for a very reasonable price. There's no shot of the sweatband, but it's advertised as a Stetson panama fedora, date unknown. The seller says s/he cleaned it and repaired 5 tears. Looks like a great beater to me. I've almost completed my "old man working in the yard" impression.

Lost gamble on this one. Great hat, small size. 3" Cavanagh(Guild edge) brim and 5-5/8" crown. Slightly reddish medium brown with red ribbon. No moth problems, just a bit of dust and sweatband wear. Unfortunately the hidden factory tag under the liner and sweatband shows size 7 and it measures up at 22" C. That's a shame, but very attractive hat. I remember that hat lot (3?) was on ebay at the same time as the Cavanagh Brad picked up - both looked like tricky bets. I lost my gamble as well, on the Special I just received - it's also a size 7.

Stetson Royal DeLuxe

4331192354_eafb78e18a_o.jpg

2-3/4" brim with thin bound edge and 2 rows of decorative stitching. Still working on getting the sweatband back to its original size, arrived 1-1/2 sizes smaller than tagged and factory stamped(mostly inward curl away from the felt)-so far up to my head as a hat block fit. The 16 ligne ribbon is Navy Blue. Very light, thin and smooth for a Royal DeLuxe. This is the most pristine hat I've ever received--genuinely unworn, even the brim flanging had no trace of a snap. More photos later.
