At the end of the restriction period we draw conclusions and something remains positive.
A supply of hats, inventory is coming here these days. After being put in steam with the steam and properly combed, two "soft felts" enter the new hats in my collection.
This is the first

Super Barbisio Extra Lusso made especially for Radiconcini - Rome

The size is a 56 cm, 4 1/2 US.

The felt is soft, indeed very soft and just a puff of wind to change its shape

The color of the felt is "Argento" and the consistency is very soft. The hat is new and never worn.

These are the measures of this Italian classic: raw brims at 5.5 centimeters, the open crown is 13 centimeters and the black ribbon is 2 centimeters.

A light hat and very suitable for this season in the Nordic countries, here is summer

Second arrival in the restriction period and it is another soft and classic Italian felt

Borsalino Qualità Superiore recent production, you notice it from the brand on the bow

The size is a 60 cm, 6 1/2 US.

The felt is very soft, but keeps its shape well.

Felt color is a number as it is used in modern Borsalino production. The color (a light beige, a little bit more warm then in the pictures) is splendid and the contrast copper ribbon gives a special touch to this Borsalino.

The hat is new and never worn.

These are the measures of the Italian classic: raw brims at 7.5 centimeters, the open crown is 15 centimeters and the copper ribbon is 4.5 centimeters.

2 inch brim with Mode Edge (Cavanagh)
Beautiful 2 inch burgundy ribbon

When I saw this Stetson Twenty with it beautiful burgundy ribbon could be had for its original selling price of Twenty dollars I had to jump on it. The seller had indicated it was a “very small hat for child or woman” but his measurements sounded like it would work. I gave it a shot and it fits great. Fits.. feels and looks wonderful.... and did I mention with ribbon???

As is often the case. Different lighting makes to color appear different... especially the ribbon

Well you really can’t do better than that, the same color I put on my twenty although I opted for 7/8”. Well done!

Waiting for other hats that are in postal limbo I thought I'd console myself with this one I saw on a Frech auction site.
Hückel Superior Velour. Sold to me as a size 56, but in fact a size 59, with the raw edge brim at 6cm and the crown at 10,5cm at the center dent. Doesn't appear to have been worn much if at all. The felt of this pre-war hat is glorious.

Nice finds, Daniele and good to have you back. I've had one of those modern Barbisio hats before, but I couldn't get it to work for me. It was just so soft that it was all over the place. I had to let that one go.

Would have loved to find it to be your size, Brent, but finding one in this condition is rare enough, let alone one in a very large size.
