Out West anything with a brim under 3" is a stingy, and on the East coast a brim over 2" is a cowboy hat.

J. Hückel´s Söhne "Alpha - Seal Velour", French Point 4 probably mid 1930s. The black Velour felt (very difficult to photograph, absorbs light) is really fantastic (perfect condition) with a beautiful Alpha quality Seal Velour finish. This hat came from the same seller as the J.Hückel´s Söhne "Paltin" and most likely belonged to the same original owner. It also came with an original Hückel box.

The following photographed really shows the quality of the Alpha quality Seal Velour (close sheared with high gloss).

I like the curl of the brim on this one Rodolfo. Nice color and details. Impressive.

I took delivery of a Tonak Selentino Sterling that I purchased on eBay. I've bought a few of these from the same seller. The hats are typical of Tonak fur felt hats and a good deal if you can buy them right. The colors, well, that's another proposition. This shade of brown was a bit disappointing as it was definitely copper colored.

I'm not sure of the age (the price makes me think later than the 60s), but who cares? That is a beautiful hat. It's also in my size so if you ever get tired of it .....

You wear this hat well. I'm not much of a cowboy hat fan, but its hats like these that make me wish I could pull them off. Nice find.
