Does the older "Imperial" have a different hand to it? My recent production "Imperial" has a suede like sort of feel.

Bob, I almost overlooked this question. I don't have much to compare it to. The other Imperial stetsons I have are homburg hats that were made under license by Failsworth in England. It does feel like has some sort of nap to it though. Very nice and pliable felt.

Blue hat moved to Classifieds: Two Cav edge fedoras I picked up yesterday afternoon, both 7 1/4:

blue late '40s/early '50s Saks-Fifth Avenue
grey '70s Brooks Brothers

Colors are most accurate in the view from the top of both hats.

Borsalino bought in 1963. Flecks of blue, green and grey in the felt which has an interesting edge. Black ribbon with wind trolley. In a hotel with no ribbon so no measurements. I am very happy with this, soft felt.

Borsalino Alessandria in grey - green. Camera is not getting the colour quite right, will try with better sunlight tomorrow. Beautiful felt, also very happy with this, thank you @Miamibruno!
