just saved this fantastic Playboy from the depths of eBay

it had just been posted for a stupid cheap Buy It Now ... stupid cheap ... I got lucky

it has a tiny pin hole in the crown that I am not worried about one bit

very excited to own my first Playboy.... been on the prowl for one of these in my size and in good condition for a long time

Congrats on the Stetsonian and especially the Playboy, Moon. I know you've been scouring for a while. You're going to love it. I hope You find more. The Playboy may just be my favorite model for Stetson.

Congrats to Alan as well. A Knox Tom n' Jerry is a dream hat for me. Just stunning! Great box as well.

Moon, great bash on the Stetsonian. Also, congrats on the Playboy. Great score!

Alan, that TnJ is really nice. I like the ribbon.

+1 to 1mach1's post.

The Playboy is terrific. I can not wait to see your wearing the hat and hear about how it stands up to the other fine hats in your wardrobe.

Alan, The Tom and Jerry, much less a green is a fedora to dream of. Excellent! Wear it proudly.

Man, you guys have scored BIG! Congrats on the Playboy Moon! It's already got the wide pinches like it was custom creased for you!

Alan what can I say but what a beautiful gem to add to your already wonderful collection! I love green hats and that one is exemplary!

I know nothing about the maker. No idea about the age or quality level when made. It was purely an impulse buy. It came in a beat Richman brothers box, the hat itself was little if at all worn. The velour is not as nice as my Peschel Disney, and seems quite stiff, especially when I snapped down the brim. Nowhere near the level of quaity as the Peschel felt.
Worth the $12.00, though.

It would be interesting to know the source of the felt. It looks more 1970s or later. The Velour on your Disney AP Dinkelsbühl is about as fine as you will encounter post WWII (use a long soft brush steam and brush with the nap it will shine).

Side note:

With Velours I usually start with a normal brush and steam + brush with nap. I finish with a long soft brush and steam + brush with nap. This will make the finer Velour shine / glow. If there is a lot of dust build up I would vacuum first.
