Mach, thanks for the tip on the Akubra.

Brother Cavefish, yeah, on the Spanish rust hat - pulling down the front is just what I did yesterday!

This came in the mail yesterday. Resistol Cattleman straw (check out the brim, Joao!)...
Nice one. A lot of shade there!

I bought two of these for the different colors. The shop (J.J. Hatters in NYC) has no style name for this hat; they just call it the "100X." The felt supposedly comes from the belly of the beaver. It's got their "Phrenology" liner. The maker lives in Spain. When I tried on one of these hats, the lines and shape looked just right. Better than any Borsalino in the shop. It's the softest, smoothest felt I've ever touched! Super comfortable too!
The rust color is really nice!

a great hat but i am so much more drastic . i would pull that baby on a deep bend and straighten the back, i used to do a semi bend on the back but i am leaning more towards a relaxed return from my sudden bends , from your picture another inch on the nose and the back a straight recovery, and maybe a 1/2 in off on the crown, as to do a wider relaxed bash ------------ but thats just me, i am living through you brother , just dreaming

Cavefish - do you have a pic of the bend you're talking about?

Ingineer - Thanks for the comments, and brilliant find on that NYT article. Maybe I'll ask at JJ's!

It fits perfectly, and everything. It was FILTHY when I bought it. A friend brushed it down and removed all the (CONSIDERABLE) dust on it, to make it look the colour it is now :)

, well i don't have any mid sized brims, that i wear down, ( flipped up) i would guess yours is a 2 3/4 to a 3" at most , but for me i like a drastic front bend, like i said for me, every hat you post and others i am amazed and envious , and of coarse we all want everyones else's hats---;):D---------SO i only imagine what i would do if it were mine

this how i wear one of mine, but i still need a ribbon (coming soon)

No ribbon necessary, Brother C. That hat just seems at home as is... I like it!

A vintage Pork pie hat that looks almost like NOS arrived today. It may even be NOS...

Wow, A Christy's of London Fedora for $10!?
I'd say that you got a fantastic deal, Congrats!

That looks like it might be their "Adventurer/Poet" model which is their Indiana Jones hat which they currently list for 110 pounds.

Shangas - great find! I've been thinking of a kind of beater fedora, comfortably worn so I wouldn't have to baby it - and even though yours is a Christy's of London, it looks good for that for that! But it could dress up too!

BroCave - that curl looks rakish on you, sir! Thanks for the pictures!

HatsRme - I'm envious! Look forward to a picture of you wearing it!
