That is outrageous! Big E jackets from the late 60's to early 70's currently go for as little as $25. The care tag, two-pocket style, small "e" and single stitch indicate that this is from the early 70's. I don't think there's a sucker alive that would buy this for anywhere near the asking price. It's been my experience that most people who buy these jackets know exactly what they're looking for.

True you are Mr. Marlowe but if I was to say that (John Wayne,John Lennon ie)tried it on,wore it whatever for some reason this makes people think it's worth more, not that the add says that,it's just something I've noticed.Again like I said it only takes one?

well yeah that's a very Identical sports coat and makes people want it. its not that Elvis wore it but its style.

I saw one also not long ago and it was the exact plain brown shawl collar corduroy blazer that Eddie Cochran wore and Elvis wore in king creole. I think it went to like 600. they weren't asking nowhere near that it just got out of hand and rose in price just because it was the same jacket they both wore.

But this is a modern Levis Jean jacket and I feel like telling them something

I realize that the style makes it desirable, not that Elvis actually wore the jacket. Nice Hat's comment just reminded me of that listing. Even though it's very identical to the style Elvis wore, I personally think it's pretty bland to drop that kind of cash. I'll take a wild fleck pattern over that jacket any day.

I'm wondering how you can tell that the Levi's jacket is modern? The single stitch indicates that it's a cross-over from the early 70s when the company switched to the little e. Also, the tag and the older style care label in that jacket are consistent with all the 70s jackets I've seen, including a big E jacket that I had. I'm not claiming to be an expert, but based on the research I've done, the reference books that I have, and what I've seen, this looks like a 70s jacket to me. Are there some details that I'm missing or don't know about?
