:eek:fftopic: Once assisted in preparing a case against a ship builder
for a sailor whom had lost an arm and a leg on a carrier deck. He was
in a wheelchair at Edward Hines VA Hospital when I visited him,
and we were enroute to the hospital canteen when a crowd of high school
kids touring the facility passed by. I'll never forget the hushed silence
and looks of those kids when they saw that sailor.

Yeah, this is the most painful part of the night, when your body says "that's it, I'm done! Go to bed!" and you can't. I don't give a *hoot* what you say body, I have to stay up another five hours!

Best time of day. er.. night.

I tend bar in San Fran and love coming home to a sleeping house at 3 or 4am. Perfect time to enjoy a glass of Laphroaig and a cigar in front of the house in an otherwise hectic life. There's something to be said for watching the sun rise from the beach that sits 20 blocks away.. especially with the quiet city behind you. (First post!) :)

That's what i'm doing now, the boy is fast asleep, the dog is out ratting somewhere and i'm just enjoying sitting in the porch nursing a wee dram and enjoying the silence....another heck of a day at an end.

Here's hoping your wories have dissipated and faded, leaving sweet dreams in twilight's wake.

A night of study after last evening's pub crawlin n' late nite brawlin.
At least Notre Dame is back. Cinderella's hour then Taps.
Dawn reveille and another day at the office. :coffee:

Looks like a productive evening--finally got the fool clients to give up a little ground on some of WWII's smaller aircraft carriers' capacity.

You know what the difference between a Treasury note and a gamer, especially a miniatures gamer is? The T-bill actually matures and starts earning money eventually.lol

Ever play the TED Spread?
The spread difference between US Treasuries and Eurodollar rates.
Go long one and short the other. Gasoline and oil contracts with seasonal
spreads. Or scalping a stock on a fast tear. $$$$$$ ;)

... the financials game--the subject is one of the few things that reliably puts me to sleep...

While in law school, I worked the overnight desk at a commodity brokerage.
That graveshift, and day-trading my own account, and school damn near killed me.
But I enjoyed the game. Vegas-without the girls. ;)

Quiet cities...

Its nice how a decent sized city can have a hush come over it in the small hours of the night. Its that period between the bars closing, and the morning rush. If there were a light mist or fog in the air, it gives it the feel of the classic movies from the 40's and 50's.
