Hi Guys,

I've always appreciated when people post photos of their jackets, so thought I'd "give back".

The photos aren't great as it was starting to get dark outside when I got around to taking them, so these are some quick shots inside. I'll see if I can talk the wife into taking a few more next week with better lighting (she thinks its weird enough as it is already...)

This is my first jacket, a Size 42 Aero Cafe Racer. Brown FQHH. I've had it just over a year and I've treated it pretty badly to break it in, its really softened up in that time. I even took the gamble and did a hot water treatment to help soften it. I get a lot of comments when I wear it, random people really seem to love the colour. Its probably a size too big now in the shoulders, but I have lost a little weight from when I bought it...back to the gym for me...

Next is my Alexander Leathers Detroit in Seal Jerky Horse. Size 42 I really wasn't sure about this purchase, I really really don't like perfectos (think they are too cliche even though I ride bikes) and was worried it would look too much like one......don't know why but I love this jacket (and still hate perfectos).[huh]
It was a sale item from AL so I thought what the hell and took a gamble...really glad I did. I really like the seal colour, almost looks black in some light but not really and I think that adds a lot of character. Nice light weight spring/autumn jacket, needs almost no break in to soften up. It was pretty much really comfortable out of the box....very different to the FQHH jackets. Its only about a month old.

and finally my new Aero Teamster in Brown FQHH that arrived last week through Thurston Bros. I'm not a huge fan of Black leather jackets...they seem to be a dime a dozen around here so as I get such a good reception to the Brown FQHH, thought I'd go it again. This is going to be my Cold weather jacket so I went for 1 size larger than Carrie and Wade initially recommended (a size 40 rather than 38) to allow for layering. Its breaking in nicely, I've given it a quick bath already (cold water this time, dont want it looking too beaten up) and its moulding and softening nicely.

If I dont post this today, I'll put off posting at all so hopefully this will get my ass into gear to get some nicer shots soon. Hopefully someone will find these as helpful as I found all the photos already on the site.

I'm 5" 11.

There "might" also be an Alexander Leathers Roadster in Black Steerhide that the wife doesn't know about so its hard to include pics of me wearing ;)

I might try and do a selfy of it later...

well done on the pics with your face showing. Being a leather jacket aficionado is indeed nothing to be ashamed of!

Of them 3 on you the racer is probably my fave. It'll be interesting to see the roadster too, I assume it's a 38 you ordered?

Good stuff, I like the racer the best.
As to why you prefer the Detroit over a perfecto... It's more subtle, no studs or belts.
I think that a jacket should have one unusual/stand out feature, in this case it's the asymmetrical cut, no need for any more crazy details.
Personal preference!

Great selection. The Teamster's a great all-rounder and it's good to see it become more popular over the last year or so.

Those are great photos and thanks for posting. It looks like your CR could possibly be worn in a size 40 but far better a bit loose than too tight. How does the CR fit zipped up?

I initially ordered a Roadster in a size 40 (equivalent to an Aero Highwayman 38) and really had to scramble to actually get it on...just too small across the shoulders, really restrictive fit. I returned that one and got the 42 which I an actually get on lol

So looks like I'm a 42 in AL and a 40 in Aero.

@Fanch, yeah the Cafe Racer is probably a size too big now sadly, it did fit a little better a year ago when I bought it but I dont think it looks so bad I need to sell and re-buy a smaller one.

I think you made a valid point that a 42 in AL probably fits like a 40 in Aero, although I have never laid eyes on an AL. Hence one needs to be careful about sizing and understand how each manufacturer sizes their jackets. I would be hesitant to sell your CR unless you are able to get top dollar for it. My experience is that one size too big is tolerable but not two. Who knows: you might grow some more and wish you had held onto the CR. :eeek:

I will say that your posting the three jackets with pictures and info might well assist someone else with a future purchase and appreciate your taking the time. :thumb: Again, don't be too quick to flip the CR.

Those all look great. The Detroit is cool to see. It is more fitted looking than I imagined. In a good way.
Let's see the roadster. I have one in transit.

OK, Here is a quick "selfie" of the Alexander Leathers 4 pocket Roadster. Size 42 in Smooth Steerhide, Black.

I would have preferred a 3 pocket, but this was a sale item. Basically after I returned my original custom Roadster order due to incorrect sizing, I was able to get both the Detroit and this 4 pocket roadster pretty much for the same money as the 1 custom order so I can put up with the extra pocket :D

It was really comfortable out of the box, I was a little worried about ordering "boring" steerhide as I've become a bit of a horsehide snob lol but I'll be damned if it isnt a really really nice leather.

I've said it before, if you don't have your heart set on FQHH, you would be a fool not to consider Alexander Leathers, cheaper pricing, faster production....its great to have options...

Hi, PN:
They are all four beautiful jackets, but, the pick of the litter for me is the last one, the Roadster. The fit, drape of material, the whole package just rocks in an elegant understated way. It's a great collection you have. Thanks for the pics.
