Received this hat from Michael on Monday! Steel beaver Gannon, 62 CM - 7 3/4 with a 5 1/2" shaped crown, 2 3/4 " mild flange brim, 16 ligne black ribbon, 6 ligne steel bound brim, the headband is the "mushroom" and it is very soft. This is my 2nd Gannon and it is a fine piece of hat! Very happy repeat customer. Felt feels great and is thinner than the whiskey diamond crown I had made a little over a year ago. It seems like it would take very little steam to hold a bash. When I came up in the que Michael explained he was relocating and said he would start on the hat as soon as he got settled. I am guessing this is the first Gannon Hat made in California (where it shipped from). Thanks again Michael great work! That's a sharp hat - very nice! Michael had trouble finding bodies to accomodate my 7-3/4 size, high crown, and 3" brim. But he always kept me in mind, and eventually found bodies to build me two very fine hats that I really enjoy wearing.

I hope you get many happy years out of yours!

Lovely steel fedora! Gannon's flatter flanged brims are becoming a signature. I have really been taken with them. The leather sweat is a great choice. Congrats on the new hat.

Here's a bit more Whiskey mania, just be fore it left from Gannon a little over a year ago..

I was just thinking this myself. I have come to prefer the flatter flange brim, too.

And the natural leather sweat, while more susceptible to staining from oils on my forehead, is soooooo comfortable!

I had no idea he was moving. What part of CA?

I'm currently working with him on my new hat and he kind of told me the reason, but I will let him chime in if he wishes. I'm going to respect his privacy.

I did not ask exactly where he was relocating to or why, but I think it's best to follow Hector's lead...

I don’t want to get into his personal business, and I’m not even interested in the “why. The “where” is of interest. If I could meet with him in person and look at ribbon options with different felt colors and discuss details this is a big deal.

Giving some love to my Gannon fedoras today. Specifically a silvermist with charcoal trimmings.

My Gannon was a terrific accoutrement during the snow flurries this afternoon.

We live in the supposed temperate NW.....up on our modest hill (not a mountain) we did get a mild dose of snow flurries. This time of year we would usually get our version of 'snow flurries' but it would the Japanese Cherry blossoms blowing of the trees and swirling about like falling snow. On windy days we would even get cherry blossom drifts accumulating. But NO, this year it is the real deal.....snow!

Snow - wow. No snow-yet. Is not spring without another dose of snow flurries.
