Well, my friend, I see it this way, I already got 3 hats, I know some people is waiting in line, I know Michael has to get more customers, so I am,not loosing anything by waiting a couple of weeks more and some people, including Michael will gain something.

At the end we all win, 2 days after that I got an email from Michael to lwt me know he got my Powder Blue Felt in beaver instead of bunny.

So, in the end, you get what you give.

My Dark Moss in beaver arrived early this morning. Just bashed it with a simple center dent, which I really like. For those who are interested in such things: crown height is 5 1/2"; brim width is 2 3/4"; accent stripe on bow is charcoal. The felt is a little thinner and more malleable than the whiskey beaver I purchased from Michael about 8 weeks ago. I asked Michael about this, and said that he is constantly working on pouncing the felt as thin as can. Anyway...another winner from Gannon!

Yeah Absolutely Gorgeous! I asked for one ( the pecan) at 2 3/4 and the dark brown at 2 5/8 and I'm still really leaning towards 2 3/4 . But both look Great . I wonder if I should let him know now or if he'll contact me ? Especially before getting to that point . Boy! your Dark Moss looks Great ! The ribbon is elegant, but nicely understated . Nice touch .

I heard from Michael . He said he had 8 ahead of mine , so at 2-3 per week , about a month . He said it was okay to change my mind on details , he wasn't close to getting started. Even if I want a different color , he didn't mind having extra hat bodies around , but he had ordered ( I figured he'd have to ) mine . Really nice , and quick response. I didn't want him thinking I ordered then dropped off the planet , but don't like bugging people , especially busy folks .

I think you're right. Although I generally like green, it is not usually one of my top choices; and I was a bit anxious on how it would look "in the flesh" (I selected this color because of the recommendation of some of the folks here). But IMHO, the Winchester Dark Moss really is a classic: not too light, not too dark, and (as Eric has already pointed out) very lush. I think everyone should own at least one.

And just a word of thanks to all participants to this forum. I've been following the FL regularly for about 5 months now, and I can't tell you how all the threads, comments, and words of encouragement have enriched my understanding and appreciation of fine hats. I'm have a great time with my newly found hobby; but I'm also starting to suffer from one of the early warning signs of addiction: hat-box build-up! My hat closet is now turning into a hat room!

And to tell the truth, I've received better attention from Michael than I did from Optimo, which charged me three times as much for the hat I ordered from them!
