Hi,

Can anyone please help me identify if this schott perfecto is legit, and also any other info on age etc?

There used to be a super helpful guide on the schott forum but I dont think it's there anymore.

I've not seen this combo of lenzip sleeve zippers, schott main zip (no branding on back of main zip), arrowcare labels, model number label inside the coin pocket and unbranded belt buckle. It also feels slightly lighter than my 613 in a size smaller - unsure if that's normal?

It's apparently "vintage" but also seems completely unworn except for some scuffing and scratches to the leather that I presume are from storage.

Attached some photos and would really appreciate any help 20250417_131810.jpg 20250417_131814.jpg 20250417_131822.jpg 20250417_092801.jpg 20250417_092735.jpg 20250417_092726.jpg 20250417_092722.jpg 20250417_092708.jpg 20250416_172918.jpg

Based on my research and info gathered from Gail at Schott and the Schott forum here is what I think. Pocket tag 5th digit is a 9, couple that with the Arrow care label that places the build year either a 2009 or 2019. Schott changed from a Leathercraft care label to the Arrow label around 2008. Based on all the little details, I would be surprised if this was a knockoff. Also, the new condition of the pocket tag seems more current than a “vintage “ jacket as was mentioned.

I have a 118 that is a 2018 model year and it has the newest tag they use, no Arrow tag. Makes me think yours is a 2009.

@LeatherHunter, you legend, thank you for this!

I actually have a 613 which I think is a 2019 one, and that has the same sort of black tag you've posted above, and has the barcode label inside the hand pocket, not the coin pocket.

The coin pocket tag kind of threw me off on this one with the barcode inside the coin pocket. Just a combination of things i'd not seen before. + Lenzip?? and the unbranded buckle...?

I'm less worried about it genuinely being "vintage" whatever that means, and more that I just hope it is genuine and not a copy - maybe I'm just too paranoid.

But if it is in fact one from 2009 with very minimal-no wear, maybe that explains the scuffing etc.

Thank you again for the response, it's put my mind at ease a bit about the legitimacy :D

Wish i had screenshotted that info from Gail before, there was a list with everything from the brand on the buckle, type of label etc all with dates, it was super useful. She was a true asset to the Schott business for sure.

It is 100% legit. Fake Perfectos look like utter sh*t.

Although, it has been worn. Very lightly but you can see that the creases in the sleeves had begun setting in. But this would be nitpicking. This jacket is, for all intents and purposes, near-new.

@Monitor that's awesome thanks man, very much appreciate the response too.

I have been burned on vinted/ebay too many times it's made me paranoid

Do you think leatherhunter is right in his 2009 estimate?

@r.jenkins0912 I wouldn't know for sure, I am not very informed on dating Schott jackets, mainly because they all look so much alike after the 1960's but I personally would agree with @LeatherHunter on this jacket being a 2010 onward piece. It's definitely not vintage, that much is certain.

Leather zipper pull tab is sure sign the jacket has been made post 2K's.

I myself have never seen a half-decent Perfecto knock-off. The best look utterly horrendous so I don't think you need to worry about that.

I just went through the pictures of all the Schott Perfectos that I’ve owned over the years (quite a few lol) and did not find one jacket that had Lenzip sleeve zippers. I wonder if this was a necessary short-term supplier switch for some reason. Nice score on your jacket!

Thanks @Madhouse27 for the reply!

That's interesting, it seems there are lots of little variations on schott perfectos over the years. The fit is good, leather feels decent so I think I'll keep this one and see how it breaks in :)
