Pre-1917 T W Hobson & Co hat. I'm thinking it dates prior to 1917 because the Union label doesn't have the Union Printers "bug" in the upper left corner. The T W Hobson Co was incorporated in 1895.

Hi everyone! I recently purchased this newsboy cap on Poshmark. Can anyone tell me anything about this specific union label? It is the United Hatters, Cap, and Millinery Workers union label, with numeric range, and letter sizing. Also, the cap has no brand logo, just a plain black liner with what looks like a rather wide sweatband. This is more a question for one of the cap specific threads, but since I'm here asking about the union label I'll give this a shot. Regarding which class wore what, I've been looking for a real true "worker's" cap. Something like pictured here of a workman working on Rockefeller Apartments in the 1930's. Were these rather plain caps that don't appear to be attached to any specific company worn more by the working class who may not have been able to afford a name brand hat or cap? Any information on this would be greatly appreciated.
