Wow...They're so screwed up that there's actually a waiting list to get your money back!

Well, I got them, lovely fabric, quite different from anything I've got - a nice soft hand with lots of white weft and a slight grey cast to the indigo, while the construction is Sterling. That's the good news.
But... while the waist was on the nail, I'm afraid the leg has come up a full inch short. I know this because I measured them using the tape they had included in with the jeans! Unfortunately, with my Gustins or SJCs, this would be okay, but I had actually ordered these so I wouldn't have to cuff them.
I'll get in touch with them, see what can be done. I would have just eBayed them, but they're rather nice and I just want to see what they can do about it.

It's quite ironic to include a tape but not bother to check that the measurements are correct before shipping!
If it was any other company i would say send them back, but with LD, who knows what they will send you back, IF they send you something back, and more importantly, WHEN will they send it back...

Sorry to hear that, and is the reason I never have anything online hemmed in advance but cuff for the first couple of washes before doing hemming at all. The problem with returning anything to Lawless has to do with shipping charges that might exceed the actual value of the jeans. I think that almost everyone with any relationship with Lawless is now cutting their losses and departing. :bolt:

I know! Well, I'm going to show good faith and have contacted them. It is a shame because they are a really nice jeans - I'd say superior to Gustin in terms of construction, but not a patch on my SJCs, which are the nicest jeans I have by a country mile in terms of fit and denim.
Lawless also through in a rather nice natural leather card holder as way of apology, which was rather nice of them too.

Im not refunding anything. Nice shirts from Gustin is $109 and that is 3 shirts from LD, without as much QC issues I hope and way way better construction. Even if 2/3 comes in good its a steal.

I would send them back if they are too short. Better to get a pair you can use in 3 months then nothing anytime? They ship you a return label so shipping should be zero?

Hopefully. I do think the quality is very good for the money, though I got the impress that the don't have any of the 180z left. I'm relaxed about the situation, though.
*Hmm, I just picked the jeans up to move them and one of the pocket rivets just pinged off!
** Actually, I can't see where it could have pinged from, I think it was just a spare rivet left in a pocket.

Thus far from my selvedge denim adventure, I am hard pressed to find anything better than my Zimbabwe Gustins. Right now I'm glad I didn't jump on Lawless.

LD just got in touch, apologising and saying that they had pairs of the 18oz Japanese lying around from cancelled orders and would look to find some in my size. Can't fault them on their response. [huh]

Did Lawless ask you to ship yours back? Since it was their error I would imagine they would cover shipping both ways.

I had been expecting them to take a powder any day, but that doesn't seem to be the case, despite the mistakes we're seeing. Does anyone have an explanation for what happened to them? I've been wondering if it isn't a case of an entrepreneurial "visionary" who let things get out of hand and then let someone else try to clean up the mess. If that's the situation, the current regime deserves a lot of credit for their efforts. Does anyone know for sure? A couple of times I considered cancelling my order, but then I saw deliveries being made so I held off, just for interest's sake.

Somebody posted pics of their new factory on the Selvedge forum, so maybe things are going to speed up now. [huh] I don't understand how they got the order wrong, tbh, as the slip it came with was very clear - 30" waist, 32" leg - and they were dead-on an inch short, so perhaps it was a wrong measure rather than sloppy cutting or whatever. I'll hear back from Kahla tomorrow as regards a solution. As I said, I do like the denim and it would be nice to have a usable pair in it.
