Pre-Code film dealt with many of today's social more's. It was in the best interest of the government (read: the corporations at the time who bankrolled senators and congressmen) to quell all that "revolutionary talk". Same situation we're in now, and will be till the end of time unless politics are left to the people, and the people alone.

Politics are best left to an informed public.

Too many people have no clue how things work whether economics, liberty, freedom, rights versus responsibilty, no history and all the while will believe the most outlandish drivel.

In a sound bite world the uninformed public votes.

What I have seen since my teen years is there are way too many people that should be legally declared wards of the state because they cannot be responsible for themselves yet they vote.

People are more apt to believe that UFO's landed in Las Cruces, New Mexico than are able to understand economic policy. "Why, don't we just print more money? Oh yeah, aliens landed in the Mojave Desert, and made beef jerkey that is now sold out of a trailer in Baker."
