I own (but don't use) an electric razor. Instead I use a double edged safety razor, with shave soap and a boar bristle brush.
I don't own an I-phone, but do have 2 cells because they are required (one for work and one by my wife!).
My wife is a tech person, so I have a lot of modern stuff, but not the latest. There is a limit as to how confused I want to be in my pursuit to watch an old movie.

Everything musical went down the drain when the Musicians Union went on strike in 1942. Everything after that you can write off.

I'll read that as the gag I think it was intended to be, but think it's a shame that some folks feel it's a reasonable position to assume. Even if a person is so ill informed as to discount all "popular music" after such-and-such-a date, does that mean no Samuel Barber and the like? No Marsalis' ( Marsalises? Marsalisies? Marsali? )? And so on...
Of course, that all belongs in the 'Radio' section, I suppose, but...eesh.

I don't have ( on topic ) a facebook acct. I have no altruistic motive(s), I just don't want one. Unless you count Survivorman*, I've never seen a reality television program in its entirety.

*I love the way the guy becomes almost palpably despondent, sometimes... I prefer to think of it as instructional.

Well, it's partly a gag, of course, but in all seriousness I think music's in the ear of the beholder -- and basically, postwar music -- especially that of the rock era -- does nothing for me. Sanskrit may be a beautiful language to those who speak it, but I don't speak it -- and I find rock-era music just as incomprehensible.

A very diplomatic response, ma'am. Music is a pretty easy button to push for a lot of folks and likely my favorite for having pointless arguments/debates over, where there can't be a winner. I'm going to go listen to my Iron Maiden Covers Glen Miller's Classics, now...*

*a series of 78s, of course, to preserve integrity.

You can't completely dismiss all music after a date, but I feel that pop/rock had very little to offer after the 1970s
Country was superb from the beginning until around the time of "Urban Cowboy" in 1980, was still good from then until about 1992, okay until the end of the decade, and offers very little today.

Anything after the Beatles got here. :p

Anything before the popularity of Rock and Roll, I think.

In my opinion The Beatles are overrated, and much too drug influenced, now thinking about it I don't like any band of their kind, and the fools who call rap music, and mostly any band popularised or formed after 1945.
