I actually had a good conversation on the train with the person sitting next to me on the train because I was in a black lounge.
Looks really fabulous, Charlie!

rlk, those are really nice examples. I particularly like the Cavanaugh and the Dunn.

Charlie, you look like you could be going to the Palace!

Here I am in the first homburg I ever liked on my own noggin. Makes me think I should have tried some side dents on the others... maybe I'd still own that lovely, dark blue Cavanagh.

Another Dunn, and an early one...

Hello Homburg Nation!

See lots of Dunn & Co. hats popping up here! Posted a Dunn a few weeks back myself, actually, my favourite hat manufacturer of all. :D

Here's a nice one I've had for a while, its late twenties/early thirties (going by hat boxes with postal dates that I have for similarly styled/lined Dunn & Co's).

This one is 'rare' because I find it harder to find pre 1940’s hats in light colours. I am currently researching the history of Dunn & Co and will publish a special thread specifically devoted to Dunn & Co hats when all the research is collated. To digress slightly, I picked up a great Dunn & Co snap brim last week; will upload some photos when I've finished the renovation, boxed, original owner named and all!

...another Dunn Homburg

Here's another Dunn & Co. homburg, 1930's I'd say. This one has a typical leather sweatband but is unlined. It is quality soft fur felt suggesting it is a summer-weight hat opposed to a low-grade model. It is very shabby, but strangely endearing; I just can't find the confidence to wear such a tired look hat in public! lol

Knox Superfine size 7 3/8

Here is a Knox Superfine I couldn't resist picking up. Its in beautiful shape and also a harder to find larger size, 7 3/8. Although thats not my size.

Anyone have an idea on age?

Elizans, those are both fine looking specimens. I look forward to your thread whenever you get it going.

Buler, nice Knox. The felt looks coarser that usual, is that just a monitor trick on my end?

Paladin, it is a thicker felt than some of my hats. Some of it is from the flash. The color is darker/deeper than the pictures. More of a chocolate brown. I had just brushed it too.

So do you guys only wear your Homburg when you dress full vintage/formal, or do any of you guys try to mix it in with your more vintage casual/ modern looks?

I wear a Homburg whenever I think it will compliment whatever else I am wearing, regardless of the formality of the attire or occasion.
