Biltmore for Miller Hats.
Just arrived today and will need to spend the night in a hat stretcher to get it to fit my long oval head. Like new condition and I really like the proportions.

Imagine finding the homburg nation thread on page six! That will not do. Here's a lovely one. Posted it earlier in the MaacLachlan and new hats threads too. MacLachlan homburg in blue. Size 7 with the brim at 6cm and the crown at a towering 11,5cm at the pinch. There was some debate wether or not this hat was actually blue (it does look quite black under artificial light), but in the daylight it shows its true colours. The hat deserves all the praise the brand has gotten over here. Wonderful felt with a lovely soft hand and the finishing is outstanding on the hat.

Very similar to my St Regis Homburg so, I'd say 1950's. Mine has the keyhole style size tag indicative of that era, i.e., 1/2 (meaning size 7-1/2).

Thanks!
I found a match in the tread on dating Stetsons by liner that put it in the late ‘50s. It would be nice if if wasn’t the 1960s. Unfortunately, it doesn’t have the size tag despite the otherwise pristine condition and the seller said there wasn’t anything behind the sweat (not sure I believe that). The hat is also brown and so the photos aren’t accurate.

Mine has the same liner as your example. Very nice quality!

Any ideas on the vintage?

LATE 50's through the 60's. This one has the dimensions of the later St.Regis with the shorter brims. The Liner especially put's it more in the 60's mark. I have one dated 1956 which was sold at the factory store, which still has the older liner as well as all the old dimensions of the earlier models that this example does not have. This one replicates my 60's example....which is still a nice felt!

So, this hat arrived and of course it was too small. The seller knew a little about hats but was not sure if the size but wrote to me it was “at least a 7 5/8” and maybe bigger. I asked her to look behind the sweatband and she got back to me saying there weren’t and indications of size behind the sweat.

Upon putting it on my head I immediately knew it was way too small. I turned the sweat inside out and there was a 7 1/2 tag. :(

I’ll get a full refund, but now I’m back in the dark brown homburg market. Bummer.

We all make mistakes and overlook things, but a little due diligence goes a long way.
