Stitched , I've been hitting it with some mega steam then trying to semi block it over the hats stretcher not ideal but haven't got blocks. As it won't fit me I'll sell it on after I do my best and let the new owner have there way. A lot of my hats end up in photos rather then on heads at the minute. Amazing what props people want. I'll get a photo of the label for you

It's probably late 1950s. If you can take a photo of the paper label that would great. It's funny that the basting stitches (to protect the ribbon and bow during stacking) are still in place after the beating. The ones around the top of the ribbon look fine but not the ones on the bow. Normally they would be removed by the hat retailer. If the ones around top of the ribbon are in place I don't remove them. I might be tempted to remove the ones on bow. That is interesting that people are buying them as props. Hopefully they don't hack them up. :)

So I've done all I can with it

Not the best in the world but still nice especially compared to modern high street hats.

Here are the labels

A couple more hats to show (This was a pretty decent shipment)

This was a massive disappointment it looked fantastic until I turned it over to find nothing! No label liner or sweatband.
I's guessing 50's or earlier as there is no trace of glue that I can see on it. Lovely long hair which is very soft to touch.

This one has me stumped on the age (Not really that hard as my knowledge is poor at best)

The felt feels like wool to me, I've been trying to work out what the label says well the initials at least.

Paddy, The Velour looks of high quality. I am pretty sure it pre 1940s maybe even 1920s. It looks like it has some what of Homburg flange. I am sure it had a really nice sweatband and liner. What size does it measure?

The other one is really interesting. I think you are correct about it being wool or it could be a wool - fur blend. Was it from a German source? I assume it doesn't have a paper label. Would it be possible to take a sharper photo of the tip patch? This looks like an older pre 1940s hat to me.

Also thanks for Rockel Chamois paper label photos. I am pretty sure its late 50s maybe very early 60s. It's appears similar vintage as DavidRaphael's Rockel Chamois.

By the way you are finding some really interesting hats!

This batch just seemed to have some interesting hats I normally get a lot of DDR traditional style hats all in a 55 54 56 sort of range but this has thrown up some more interesting ones! Hopefully the next batch will be the same but there is never any guarantee!

Anyway this is as close as I can get to the the label

The velour is lovely but again it is tiny currently measures 55 without the sweatband!

I promise this will be the last few hats I'll post (unless something amazing pops up that I missed)

Anyway both famous brands made for the German Market.

YTT - nice finds. I think the Borsalino's were made in Italy by Borsalino, whilst the Stetson's were made by Mayser. The German made Whippet I've got is a very good quality hat. If you see any in a 60/61... :)

Thanks! I checked my lists but couldn't come up with anything. Does it have a paper label?

Too bad the Velour is a small size. It really looks great.

OCMH, Fantastic! I haven't seen an old JHS from a Italian source. Would it be possible to take a photo of the paper label, sweat logo and front view creased? Also what is the size?

Thanks to you both, i'll be sure to post photos of the tag and sweatband stamp and some better shots when it comes in. It's about to make a long journey from Italy.

The seller has the size at 56.5
