Has been too hot recently so I didn’t wear it too much. So far I had some sleeve color variation due to creases but that’s it.
Many thanksThose rivets were a brilliant idea. Perfect measurement for your pattern per usual.
7.5lbs. Next order I’ll ask for each panel to be double sided. LOL. You retain the heavyweight throne. For nowLooks great!!!!!

Better jacket than mine! congrats! Even hide looks better than Horween CXL, LOL!!!
LOL. We all know about pictures…I’m excited to see it in the flesh! My fears about the fit are gone, I’ll fill it out more than Shawn. Construction and hide look great. As soon as the black is ready, I am too.Better jacket than mine! congrats! Even hide looks better than Horween CXL, LOL!!!
Choose Kevlar lining for your next project, make it bulletproof for real lol.I wish I would’ve thought of a denim liner. That would be perfect in the body!
is this the brown clx or shawns take on cordovan?
It does look to have some red in it. I take the photos with a grain of salt. Actually many grains as the color always seems different in the flesh. This is shawns house brand heavy brown hide.is this the brown clx or shawns take on cordovan?
No color change so far. It's not one of those "natrual" leather that turns honey orange. It is a tan color dyed leather, with waxes pressed in. The darker brown seems like a much better choice. Is there any record of how that thick natural hide ages in the sun yet? Is it an actual naked hide that will bake in the sun and darken?
I think key with using a hide as thick as that is to size down rather than up tbh. It may be super uncomfortable out of the box, but the break-in will be faster as the leather is worked more when you move. Also, less excess material hanging once it is broken in. It‘s insanely much bulk compared to excess material on a thin hide or cotton and will stand out more as that.
Also, I‘d avoid multi panel designs.. The less seams you got, the less places where like 4 layers of leather are in one spot.. these 1 cm knots will never break in.
I think I will order a very basic work jacket design without side panels, one piece back, one piece fronts, two handwarmer pockets and that‘s it.
