Does Shawn have two different kinds of russet? The sample pieces of russet I got are more chocolate brown and I see quite a lot of russet jackets here that are more orange toned. I am also confused about conic .
Conic is quite reddish/orange but on eBay he has a light brown on offer .There was a A2 in this thread which was conic and described as caramel looking .Thanks for your input guys.

Btw Shawn has russet shearling now .I kinda want my irvin but maybe not the smartest idea with the temps getting warmer .

You know ... when in doubt, it is better to insist on the details and double-check once more than too little. If something is not specified down to the smallest detail, the result will depend on chance. But who am I telling this lol

So a little update on my shearling dye project .
Easier than I thought .I almost got what I wanted and let's see how it looks after drying 72h

Also I tried some more natural aging on conic goat.Seems like it can develop a vachetta like patina.

Does anybody have an idea how these pockets are made? Are they just sewn or they have something to give that 3d feel?

I just want to make sure I can tell Shawn exactly how I want the pockets for the project.

The ELMC website says of the windward:

"The outline pocket is piped inside with leather, not cloth cord, which in turn is sewn with an American top-stitch to hold securely."

Interesting, the things that I had no idea about...I wonder how is Shawn making them. I'll ask out of curiosity as I don't want it to be too bold, also it will intersect with another seam so that might be tricky. Thank you all for your help
