My New Ebay Pork Pie

I recently purchased my first hat on ebay from New Jersey for what seemed a very fair price. Hope it lives up to its description upon arrival.

Here is my Stetson 100 with the original case, clear plastic protector which is molded to accept the unbashed crown with Setson 100 logos printed all over it and of course the 2 key's.
It has never been worn,no moth bites,Dirt,Etc.The case is perfect as well not a single scuff or mark it almost looks like the hat has never really been out of it's case or the case itself never left a closet a lucky find for me, it is very soft and the sweat is very pliable it even fits as well. LOL

Wow, I know Whippets are expensive these days, but that price seems insane for a base model Stetson with some mothing and general signs of wear, particularly since (according to the seller's measurement) it might have shrunken down to a size 7. Am I missing something that makes this Whippet noteworthy?

At first look a very close second, even though no one knows how high the winner's max bid actually was. Somebody really wanted that hat.

My condolences...

Same here. My condolences to the winner. Ridiculous.

I really liked the colors and the proportions but the price - just like that entire Whippet hype - is just gaga.

For that price I would just get a new hat, no question about it. I am not that stuck on vintage hats, unless there's something really special. I might hold out for a vintage Stetson 100, for example. But the cachet of a vintage hat just isn't that compelling to me, at least at high prices.

On the move again...
Yeah I had mentioned this one in the Whippet section a few days ago when it was in the $315 range. That thing is a beauty, and I suppose if some one has the coin to spend on it like that then more power to them. I just hope it is a Lounger that got it and will wear it with pride rather than just show it off in a plastic case or keeps it hidden for posterity. On that note, yes that price tag seems rather high considering the general signs of wear and that one can get a new beaver lid for far less.
I know for a long time I've wanted a green Whippet, but I think that I can get Art to make me a clone and it'll be brand spankin' new. But If it is a Lounger I hope that they share their win and let us know what they think of the hat.

Cheers!

Dan
